This book is absolutely necessary if you're learning Modern Greek because so many greek verbs are irregular! The layout is perfect. Also, there is an index of verbs (that aren't included in the 600 that are fully conjugated) that gives the page number of a fully conjugated verb that that the index verb is conjugated like. This should be a required text for Modern Greek college and university courses.

This is a great reference for learning and using Greek. The print and format are easy to read. Words are easy to look up, and the different grammatical forms are defined, explained and reinforced with examples. I use it every single day as a student at the Defense Language Institute. This is absolutely worth the extra cost over the 201 Greek Verbs book.

The token which I used to measure the usefullness of this Book of Verbs is the utility it has in my daily chores. I use it a lot in order to better understand Modern Greek (Demotic) texts which I download from the Net and almost never get let down by it. All the verbs I look for are there in all the available tenses. Besides, the additional 800 verbs listed in alphabetical order and related to the paradigms already estatablished in the book are also a good idea, which makes almost impossible not have All the necessary verbs one is looking for.One point is necessary to stress: what we must have in mind is that this is not a book for students of Classical Greek , only for Modern Greek, which is at the origin of the only one "fault" of the dictionary: sometimes it trades X for K and vice-versa, which is not the usual way I learned Greek. See, in this regard all the verbs initiated by Kata (Xata) or Kate (Xate). But, that maybe this is not the fault of the book itself, but rather of the very recent stantardization of Demotic as the official language of Greece in the 70's. Also, as a plus, there is sufficient explanation of the most important meanings in English of the verbs, which is not a standard in this type of book. Sure, you will still need a good dictionary to jump into more difficult meainings. Sure, if you are not already acquainted with the Greek alphabet , this is not the book you would want to buy.

This is probably one of the most useful books I have for Greek and overall one of the most comprehensive verb guides for any language I'd studied. Spend the money if you want to learn Greek.

Very well laid out, easy to use format. Each verb in all its forms is on a single page. By viewing all the tenses of the verb on one single page, one can begin to feel comfortable with "how" and "why" a verb means what it means. The forms and patterns become visible, predictable and understandable, as do any exceptions. Quite impressive.
