Panasonic VIERA TC-P55ST50 55-Inch 1080p 600Hz Full HD 3D Plasma TV (2012 Model)
Used & New from: $1,372.46
When do the 60ST50 and 65ST50 models come out? Pricing? I was pretty close to buying a 65ST30, but may go straight to the 60/65ST50 depending on price.

Does anyone know the release date on the 60/65? The 55" is $1510 on the buy .com website, so I'm hoping to find the 65st50 for $1999 or less.

I am certain it's not my Internet. It's 10mbps and I have a gt series model that works just fine on the network. I also have Netflix through Apple TV that works fine. It's only in this model and it does it on wired and wireless. Amazon video on demand and regular tv work just fine. When in streaming Netflix however the tv will flash black or Flickr intermittently. Just wondering if any other Netflix users have experienced this? It seems like a software issue but if that's the case then everyone should be experiencing this.

Thanks

Ryan

Ryan, the quality of Netflix is based on your connection, your internet speed and/or service and sometimes the time of day- some hours and days are much busier than others for Netflix access. If you can rule out all of these then give both Netflix and Panasonic a call.

It's going to be hard for anyone to beat the 60ST50 in price and performance. For those considering the ST30, this set out performs it and is worth waiting for a price drop if that's necessary for anyone.

Correction: Panasonic informed me that ST50 series in 60 and 65 sizes will be out in 2 months (late May or June). Yes, it will cost more to get ST50 and they have made several improvements such as: Brightness, it will have a computer chip for smart TV, will allow smart phone or tablet to act touch screen remote, glass frame and other few other functional improvevements. I reordered my previous cancelled 65ST30 TV since I cant wait that long and price differential will be too great initailly between st30 and st50. The suggested MSRP for 60ST50 is 2100 and 2999 for 65ST50 and both can be pre-ordered.

I could not find the st30 version at Costco. They always had the cheaper S30 models. They are not anywhere near the quality of st30s

I don't know the answer to that. I've been told that the "blacks are blacker" with Plasmas. Backlighting always helps! I like mine. If you order from Amazon, they have a 30 day free return policy!

Do the st50 series seem brighter than the st30? That has been my main complaint so far of the st30 at the stores. I know the lighting will not allow a plasma to shine in a store atmosphere, but a little more brightness would be nice.

My local Costco has the 60st30 for $1199 (plus 2 year warranty) so I am most likely going for that for bang for the buck. If I can get the 65st30 for $1499 or less I'll go for that. I expect to make my purchase in 2 weeks max.
