I was so excited to learn about this product. You know the sound of air escaping from a balloon? That was my excitement waning within 10 minutes of opening the box.

Why? Because there are only TWO games currently compatible with this gadget. Not two thousand. Not two hundred. Just two.

The packaging and the insert materials very clearly state this. Too bad the seller wasn't as clearly obvious in the item listing.

I spent $50 for the chance to play two games that I don't have any interest in playing. I bought the controller to have better motion control with my iOS arcade games like Pac-Man and Joust.

The insert says that more games are coming in February. But, I get the impression that only if game designers decide to re-engineer their games to be compatible with this accessory will that work for me. What are the chances big name game production companies are going to do that?

This item is going right back in the box and will be returned post haste. Save yourself the trouble and disappointment, don't buy this.

NOT great to use for the ar drone. Yes it does have cool buttons, but you will have to tweak all controlls first!
For me not worth the $30+ I paid. Would be rightly priced at $10-$14.99. Plus you must buy the ar drone ace app($5.99).

This is a lifesaver if you're using this controller for your drone. Excellent performance, and the best part is, you need no batteries! Worth every penny.

I got this for the AR Drone 2.0 and it is so amazing how well it works. My son had never seen or flown the drone until today ( he's 7) and the learning curve was instant. My only wish is that I had more batteries now to keep the drone in the air!

Here are the Problems:
-Plugs in via head phones, thus eliminating sound
-NOT universal. Only works on a limited number of games (the selection of which is poor - see 60 Beat website)
-Screen blacks out when attempting to mirror via AirPlay on Apple TV...very frustrating.

Overall: disappointing and not worth the money

I have a Parrot AR.Drone 2.0.

I love this Parrot AR.Drone 2.0.

With that said, I was looking for ways to have a bit more traditional style of control with it than using the dual virtual sticks on my iPad Mini. I did some research and found that the 60Beat game controller can be used with an app available called Drone Control.

When you launch Drone Control, in the options is a slider to turn the option for the 60Beat on. Once this is done, you simply plug the 60Beat into your iPhone/iPad and it will let you know it's connected by bringing up an onscreen map of the controls.

Once you clear that, you're able to use the 60Beat as a traditional Mode 2 controller for your AR.Drone!!!

AWESOME!!!

After flying quite a few packs through the AR.Drone with this control option, I don't think I'll be going back to just the touchscreen at all. It's so much nicer to be able to actually feel the controls, and the fact that you can feel the sticks come back to center and such just makes the AR.Drone a joy to fly...even more so than I felt it was before.

So, for you AR.Drone fans out there, you NEED to get one of these and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I've also downloaded a few apps that use the 60Beat. I've read that it isn't supported by a lot of games, and that is probably true. However, for me, the games it controls are more of a bonus as I spent the money to get it for my AR.Drone. I'm playing through Bard's Tale using it and a game called Aftermath, and it works like a charm on both of those games. It's nicer than using the touchscreen, however, it IS slightly more of a hassle than just using a virtual stick.

Overall, though, I think it's a nice product...and if you look at it as an AR.Drone flight stick first, game controller second, I don't think you'll be able to find any faults with it.

Playing the Nitro Race Car game, Bugdom 2 and Aftermath are amazing with this device. It makes the experience like using an xbox game controller. Aftermath allows you to use the 2 joysticks to navigate your way through the game without the onscreen control frustration.

Easy to use, just plug it in, it recognizes the gamepad and the controls work.

It really makes gaming on the ipad more fun.

Before, I said this was awesome. But, now there is a better item. The Nyko Playpad. It's cheaper and there are many more games for it. It is wireless, Bluetooth, and rechargeable. It's compatible with bothiOS and Android. But the Nyko instead of the 60beat. Hope this helps! :D
