After I got my own act together and set up the device properly it worked like a charm. My problem was missing exactly where the electrical sensors are located on the chest strap; they are not on the hard center section as I initially thought, but further out on the rubber straps. This is important as you must wet these sensors to ensure proper initial electrical contact with your skin; after you begin to sweat it probably takes care of itself. One big plus for me is that the device provides five user-selectable zones to record your heart rate, instead of the more standard three (in-zone, above zone, below zone), thus allowing more detailed information from your workout. I'm looking forward to a software app that provides continuous recording of heart rate over an hour or more, not just times in preselected zones. I haven't tried using it with the GPS yet, but I expect that will be another plus.

Very easy to use and works right out of the box.

You plug this into the headphone jack of your iPhone, put on the chest strap and now you have your heart rate right on your iPhone.

My friends use expensive GPS systems when we run (one cost more than $300). I use this and get more than they have. I started with the simple 60beat App (free) but quickly downloaded the runtastic pro App ($5.99). Now i get my heart rate, speed, distance traveled and easy upload to the web. At the end of the week, I can see all my workout information on the website. It seems really accurate. My friends have to hook their expensive unit up to the computer, I just press a button on the iPhone and the data uploads. Super easy.

I never thought I would carry my phone when running, but now I have music, phone and all my fitness information in one place. There are a bunch of other apps that work with 60beat, I haven't tried those.

One more way the iPhone is changing everything.

While the Heart Rx Transmitter works flawlessly with Viaden's Pro Pedometer + iPhone app I use, the straps connected to it have been disappointing. An attachment loop on the device broke after a couple weeks of use. There are 2 loops connecting the adjustable elastic band. I was able to effect a repair, but feel the design should be more robust, considering the physical use it is supposed to accommodate. 5 Stars for the electronics minus 2 Stars for a less than adequate physical connection equals a 3 Star rating.

At first I was just thinking maybe I got a defective one, but after going to the 60beat website and dead ending on just about any kind of logical assistance, I realized that this product is a joke! first off when I clicked on the "contact us" link and the company left nothing in the form of help. this company banks on selling defective products with no intention to back up there goods. I looked everywhere and could not find a number to reach them. Then when I got back to the amazon website to take a relook at all the customer reviews I realized that all the good reviews have got to be fakes. The quality of the receiver is very poor, no surprise there it does not work. I tried it on both my iPhone 4, and also my wifes iPhone 4s. I replaced the battery with a bran new one... still nothing! I'm extremely irritated. Further research on the net with this product shows more and more people with the same issue. Just goes to show don't buy from amazon on an item that only shows a total of 10 to 15 reviews, because its very possible they are made up reviews. UGGGGG!

I wore this unit 5 to 6 days a week running or biking. The battery compartment uses a rubber band gasket. Apparently, it failed. I thought I had a bad battery. I opened up the battery compartment and found a rusted battery and battery connectors as well as corroded PCB.

I would not recommend for exercise. Perhaps, for monitoring HR for stress or food allergies but not exercise. Regarding the device build quality, overall it was poor.

Strap: the sensor straps is very bulky compared to Polar and Wahoo straps (which I own both). The battery compartment cap is made of thin plastic and uses a rubber band for a gasket. The fit was poor and not easy to close.

iPhone Sensor: the plastic housing is cheap, rattles, and I was always worried it would break off.

I would look elsewhere for a HR sensor.

s tried other Heart Rate monitors, but they stop working at times during my workout or I would have to stop to take my HR. With 60beat Heart Rate RX, never stops working during my workouts, it sends my an email so I do not have to worry abut write it down and it is very easy and practical to use. I love that it is so easy and clear to read during my exercise routine.

It was not intuitive how to use. After I got it to work it only lasted a couple of months then quit all together. Tried changing the battery to no avail. Also the read outs would spike at times. It would all of a sudden take off and my rate would go up to 200+ which was incorrect.
