A Complete Air Delivery System

K&N 63 Series air intake systems completely replace the factory air intake assembly with an aerodynamically engineered tube and an oversized conical air filter. Most systems come with a heat shield to isolate cool air taken in by the engine. They take about 90 minutes to install and are designed to deliver huge increases in power and acceleration that you will feel on your next drive.

Better Sound and More Power You Can Feel

You'll smile at your car's new sound. A K&N 63 Series air intake system will make your car growl when under acceleration, yet stay quiet once at speed. You'll be thrilled when you feel the increased acceleration and horsepower. Each intake system designed by K&N is tested for durability and power improvement. From vibration stands to dynamometers, to over the road testing, K&N intake systems go through rigorous requirements.

How High-Flow Technology Works

How does the K&N 63 intake series increase horsepower? By eliminating airflow obstruction in your engine. Restriction of air flow between an air filter and an engine robs even the most powerful engine of horsepower. K&N air intake kits virtually eliminate air path restriction by replacing the standard air filter and the entire air path to the engine. The aerodynamically engineered conduit drives a massive amount of air into an engine, which translates into power. This conduit begins with an oversized conical high-flow air filter. This larger filter can fit into the engine compartment using factory holes and mounting points because it replaces your stock intake tube, and air box. This provides more airflow at lower restriction than a standard filter, limited by the size of the factory air box. The oversize air filter also captures and holds more dirt, increasing the service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles). The filter is also isolated from high engine temperature by a heat shield designed to lower the temperature of the air entering the engine, which increases horsepower. The filter attaches to a rotationally molded tube made from nonmetallic interlaced high density polyethylene (HDPE). This allows for precision shaping of the tube to reduce turbulence and accelerate airflow into the engine. This is why some K&N tubes have unique shapes or indentations that are specifically engineered for each engine configuration. Finally, the tube is connected to the engine with adapters made from high strength materials such as silicon and reinforced nylon and ensures long life. Put all this together and you have the best high-flow intake system available today.

2011 Silverado 5.3

I have run K&N intakes on my last 3 trucks so decided to do the same on my new Silverado.

Instructions are easy to follow. All parts were included and the install was very easy.
Basic tools, flat screw driver,a set of Torx head bits and a couple wrenches pretty much covers it.
This really opens up the engine bay buy removing all of the factory plastic tubing.
The K&N looks clean and simple under the hood.

I did this installation along with a Cat-Back exhaust system in about 3 hours tops.

The truck has come to life! Sounds great and better throttle response!

Anyone thinking about the throttle body spacer they advertise for more HP,Don't waste your money.
The spacer is a useless, high priced, worthless add on.

Just installed this on my 2009 Tahoe. Took me a little longer to install but that was most likely because I was enjoying the job. Instructions are spot on and easy to follow. You can even watch a video on the K&N websiteif you get confused. Once it was in I took it for a ride and LOVE the sound. As in many reviews the sound is not noticable under normal driving conditions. Merging onto the highway?..What a sound. For just the sound alone the money is worth it. I can tell I am getting better HP at the higher RPMs. I also am seeing a 1-2 MPG gain based on my MPG guage (14.6 city avg to 15.6 - 16.4). Of course since I love the sound so much I dont see me getting better MPG in exchange for the music when I get on it. I would reccomend this and on amazon the price was the best I could find. Shipping was very fast but it came USPS which doesent deliver to my house. Little mix up there but all in all I am extremely happy!!!

Install was pretty easy, sound is great.

Only problem is the check engine light came on after about 3 months of use and it turned out to be P0171/P0174 indicating the motor was running too lean. I called up K&N and they have acknowledged that there was a problem with the intake tube causing the motor to run too lean. They have updated the tube and will swap it out for free. You can call them 800-858-3333 and just give them your info and they will get you a new one.

2012 Silverado Z71 Crew Cab 5.3L
My new SIlverado seemed to "stutter" a little bit when accelerating. I eventually got used to it, assuming that's the way the new trucks drove. (I previously owned a '03 Silverado) Being an avid Amazon shopper I recently stumbled upon the K&N 63 Series AirCharger. After reading all the reviews and pondering spending about $240 for a few days, I broke down and bought it.
SHIPPING:
Fast as Always (Prime). The box came undamaged, but there were a lot of loose, tiny pieces of hardware at the bottom of the box (washers, nuts) However, this did not end up causing any problems.
INSTALL:
I have never really done much mechanic work other than on small Briggs & Stratton engines, but I found the installation to be pretty straight forward. When you remove the stock intake and first see the new K&N, you realize how bulky/ugly the stock intake really is. I used the directions that came with the Intake, as well as a YouTube video during the install. I took a few breaks during the installation, but I would say the complete install took me about 2 1/2 hours. It does require some drilling, but only a little. I found the whole installation process to be relatively easy, yet slightly time consuming.
PERFORMANCE:
Wow! The new intake looks GREAT. It really "cleans up" under the hood. I couldn't wait to take it for a spin! When at idle, I didn't notice any difference in sound (when sitting in the drivers seat). But, when I took off down the road, I knew I had made a good purchase. Not only does the engine respond quicker when accelerating, but it sounds amazing! It feels like it breathes SO much better, and it has a great "growl" between 30-50 mph. I didn't know my truck could sound like this.

Really easy install. I Followed the youtube video by K&N took about 80-90 minutes just as it said it would. Truck performs great. The gas mileage is a little better when you're not hitting the gas which is much needed on my 6.2L chevy (it is hard to be conservative since the engine sound and performance is addicting.)

I ordered this for my 2011 GMC Sierra with the 6.2L. Took me a little bit to install, but was fairly easy. The sound is amazing when I give it some gas. The power increase was awesome too. It is quiet when driving regular, and is loud and throaty when accelerating. No problems to install or after installed. First tank of gas, it gave me a little bit of an increase in MPG too. Highly recommend this for your truck. Next comes the dual exhaust. :)

Always put K&N on my vehicles. Putting this K&N on a 2013 Black Diamond Chevy Avalanche was a piece of cake.
