Editorial Reviews

Review

I passsed the series 7 over 20 years ago. I lost my registration due to having to raise my family. Now I'm preparing again to sit for the exam. The series 7 exam, again! What a nightmare, as if once wasn't enough... After reading The Series 7 & 63 Secrets, I got a boost of energy and the will power to study smart, not hard. This book gave me the urge to run for my series 7 study manual. You have to get this book, believe me, you will be so glad you did. The series 7 secrets is the best thing that ever happened for series 7 candidates going through this nightmare, I know this, because I'm one of them. Thanks Richard Perry Jr. -- Lucille Cellento

I was getting ready to study for the series 7 exam, but I heard so many negative things. After searching the worldwide web, I found many products, but this one takes the prize. The price is well under valued, under $30. This book gave me the will power to grasp my inner most strength to prepare for the series 7 exam. I can't believe this, now I actually look forward to study times. Thanks Richard. -- Marc M.

This book is an exciting test preparation manual for anyone preparing for an exam. I believe this book will raise the national average of candidates passing these exams. This is an honest, forthright approach to preparing properly for the series 7 exam or any exam for that matter. -- Michael Thomson

1.0 out of 5 stars Certainly not worth the price, February 21, 2001
This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
Richard Perry is a good writer. Possibly he is a good motivator. What he is not though, is helpful in passing either the series 7 or the 63. While I have passed both, I do not credit any of my success to this book, but rather my exhaustive studying of text books available. Mr. Perry's book is misleading. He claims to teach you secrets to pass the test. You learn no secrets of the test, just secrets on taking tests. He directs the reader to drink lots of water, eliminate stress, and sleep well. This lack of depth was by far my smallest gripe with this book though. My prominent objection is that only on the last page of the "$30 pamphlet" was the series 63 exam even mentioned. It would be well worth your time to spend the extra money and buy a real textbook here at Amazon instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars My top tips for passing series 7, November 5, 2004
This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
I did the series 7 and got a good grade. Here is what I did. I got the Securities Training Corp (stcusa.com) text book, exams book and CD-ROM. I read the text book and made 1 page of notes on each chapter just writing down keywords and very short sentences. This took me 2 days. I then went through the exams closed book. Then I reviewed the answers and added to my notes or highlighted points I kept getting wrong. I started with the last exam and worked my way. I stopped after 5 exams as I was easily getting close to 100% of the answers correct. I then did the 4 exams on the CD closed book and reviewed the answers. That's it. In total 3 weekends worth of work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, December 27, 2001

I guess the reviews with 1 star bought the book and the reviews with 4 stars are the writer's friends. I happen to have bought it and returned it the next day. "jog in place while studying so you stay awake" ???? That's one thing this book tries to teach you. Please save your money and buy a real study book for these exams.
