5.0 out of 5 stars Strongly Recomended
Series 7 Secrets is an excellent study guide and preparation manual. Anyone studying for the Series 7 would be a fool not to buy this guide. I strongly recomend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Certainly not worth the price
Richard Perry is a good writer. Possibly he is a good motivator. What he is not though, is helpful in passing either the series 7 or the 63. 1.0 out of 5 stars Certainly not worth the price, February 21, 2001
This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
Richard Perry is a good writer. Possibly he is a good motivator. What he is not though, is helpful in passing either the series 7 or the 63. While I have passed both, I do not credit any of my success to this book, but rather my exhaustive studying of text books available. Mr. Perry's book is misleading. He claims to teach you secrets to pass the test. You learn no secrets of the test, just secrets on taking tests. He directs the reader to drink lots of water, eliminate stress, and sleep well. This lack of depth was by far my smallest gripe with this book though. My prominent objection is that only on the last page of the "$30 pamphlet" was the series 63 exam even mentioned. It would be well worth your time to spend the extra money and buy a real textbook here at Amazon instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars My top tips for passing series 7, November 5, 2004
This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
I did the series 7 and got a good grade. Here is what I did. I got the Securities Training Corp (stcusa.com) text book, exams book and CD-ROM. I read the text book and made 1 page of notes on each chapter just writing down keywords and very short sentences. This took me 2 days. I then went through the exams closed book. Then I reviewed the answers and added to my notes or highlighted points I kept getting wrong. I started with the last exam and worked my way. I stopped after 5 exams as I was easily getting close to 100% of the answers correct. I then did the 4 exams on the CD closed book and reviewed the answers. That's it. In total 3 weekends worth of work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, December 27, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
I guess the reviews with 1 star bought the book and the reviews with 4 stars are the writer's friends. I happen to have bought it and returned it the next day. "jog in place while studying so you stay awake" ???? That's one thing this book tries to teach you. Please save your money and buy a real study book for these exams.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre at best, December 7, 2000

One great thing about book reviews is that they give you insights into what you can expect from a piece of literature. I found many of the reviews for this book to be totally misleading. If you buy this book, you will buy a book that is very poorly written. Every paragraph is littered with gramatical errors. I could overlook the technical errors if there was an underlying message that I found useful. I looked over the 18 pages of text that is this book and couldn't find one piece of information that was useful. I'll sum up the book for you and I won't even charge you for it: you can do it, don't study for long periods of time, you can do it, drink lots of water, you can do it, think of happy places, you can do it. This book was a complete waste of time and money.

This book is a waste of paper and ink. A take-out menu is more informative about the test than this book. - Good Luck!

I have been studying for this test for the last month. When i saw this book i thought it would be a great tool. Well when it came in the mail i was excited and opened the box in great anticipation. HELLO!!! this book is 38 pages, 9 of which are some blank notes pages and the author telling you to meditate. I have returned this in duscuss. I read it in 1/2 hour. The books second half is only read if you failed the test. I read it anyway. NO secrets here! Rip off in the highest form!!! Please do not spend your money on this.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach, October 9, 2000

Why bother? After reading the reviews of this book by other readers I was excited about receiving this book to help with my Series 7 preparation. However, I was very disappointed. Not only were there several blatant grammatical errors and typos throughout the text, the suggestions for successful preparation of the Series 7 were ridiculous - including drinking 8 8 oz. glasses of water per day and smiling.

Don't waste your valuable money or time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Drink lots of water, March 30, 2000

This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
After reading Mr. Perry's essay, (nothing this short can be properly referred to as a book), I can readily understand why he had problems with the Series 7 exam. This exam assumes college level reading skills and it is obvious that Mr. Perry does not possess that level of knowledge. The spelling errors are legion, the grammer would make my 8th grade English teacher ashamed and there are sentences with no beginning and no end. That aside, and this is really not meant as an attack on Mr. Perry...I'm sure his intentions were good, there is virtually nothing in his pamphlet that is of any practical use to prepare for the exam. He makes the following key points: 1) Drink 8 full glasses of water per day 2) Your firm will provide you with a good study manual - read it completely. 3) When you get tired or hungry, drink a glass of water 4) Keep a positive mental attitude.

Every one of these points is true, but did I need to pay to learn that? I don't think so.

If you are serious about passing this exam, there are far, far better places to spend your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars A not so bullish approach, March 12, 2000
By
This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
This book is an overpriced guide that states that you should have a positive attitude and drink a lot of water to be ready for the test. Of the 33 pages 29-33 are blank note pages. There was nothing in this book that couldn't be explained in a one page document. I'm dissapointed and will return it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother, May 15, 2000
This review is from: The Series 7 & 63 Secrets of Preparation, A Bullish Approach (Paperback)
This book is an utter waste of money. It's NOT a waste of time since it only has about 20 pages of actual text, which is redundant, poorly written and contains grammatical errors.

The contents can truly be summed up in three sentences: 1. Study hard 2. Keep a positive attitude 3. Drink plenty of water (no, I'm not kidding)
