3.0 out of 5 stars for the price, it good, October 6, 2010

Got this for a great price so I can overlook a few shortcomings. The backlighting is not consistent (some buttons are brighter than others). The owners manual is not very detailed so be ready to mess around to figure out the features. But it works fine, and I like that it has USB and AUX as well as an SD card slot (but the SD slot is behind the faceplate so you have to remove it to change cards; not too big a deal). So far, it's a good product for the price.

Boss 638UA In-Dash CD/MP3 Receiver with Front Panel AUX Input & USB

Few cons: About the cd player it WILL NOT PLAY BURNED/COPPIED CDS.
Also it is VERY low power. It says 60watts by 4speakers but its more like 10watts.
Also it dont come with the adapter to fit your antenna plug in to it.

I guess its a good buy for what you pay for it. I give it 4 outa 5 stars.

After countless hours of research of different makes and models of CD units I found that Boss was highly recommended for a low to mid-grade product for someone looking for good quality and price from audio techs themselves. I went with this one because I liked all of the features that it had, and the detail of the discription. A lot of higher end products only offer some of the same features on their lower end stuff when technology has evolved enough for these features to be standard. It was very easy to install, program and it sounds great! More watts than it's other competitors at or near the same price range, plus a remote!! Can't wait to put in the amp behind this unit, but for now I would definitely recommend this product to anyone!!
