5.0 out of 5 stars Can't get any better for the price!
After countless hours of research of different makes and models of CD units I found that Boss was highly recommended for a low to mid-grade product for someone looking for good quality and price from audio techs themselves. I went with this one because I liked all of the features that it had, and the detail of the discription. A lot of higher end products only offer some...

3.0 out of 5 stars for the price, it good
Got this for a great price so I can overlook a few shortcomings. The backlighting is not consistent (some buttons are brighter than others). The owners manual is not very detailed so be ready to mess around to figure out the features. But it works fine, and I like that it has USB and AUX as well as an SD card slot (but the SD slot is behind the faceplate so you have to...

The owners manual is not very detailed so be ready to mess around to figure out the features. But it works fine, and I like that it has USB and AUX as well as an SD card slot (but the SD slot is behind the faceplate so you have to remove it to change cards; not too big a deal). So far, it's a good product for the price.

Boss 638UA In-Dash CD/MP3 Receiver with Front Panel AUX Input & USB
by Boss

Few cons: About the cd player it WILL NOT PLAY BURNED/COPPIED CDS.
Also it is VERY low power. It says 60watts by 4speakers but its more like 10watts.
Also it dont come with the adapter to fit your antenna plug in to it.

I guess its a good buy for what you pay for it. I give it 4 outa 5 stars.

I went with this one because I liked all of the features that it had, and the detail of the discription. A lot of higher end products only offer some of the same features on their lower end stuff when technology has evolved enough for these features to be standard. It was very easy to install, program and it sounds great! More watts than it's other competitors at or near the same price range, plus a remote!! Can't wait to put in the amp behind this unit, but for now I would definitely recommend this product to anyone!!

4.0 out of 5 stars perfect for what I do, December 16, 2011

I got this radio, because I like simple design in car radios. I don't want to fumble around while driving trying to find a setting. And this has that. The layout is very easy to use, it was easy to install. Sound wise, works perfect, I can't say if it will work on a big system, but my guess is if you're spending a great deal of money on everything else, you're not buying this system. An overall great OEM replacement. negatives - Some of the setup settings are in an odd place, like the clock setting feature, but once you learn it, it's easy. When you turn off your car, it makes 3 loud beeps, freaked me out at first, I thought I was gonna blow something. It's annoying, but pretty minor. It has a remote control, which is probably pretty standard, why? I'm not sure, it's not exactly a long reach to the radio. So I can't speak to that part. Overall good product for the money.

This radio fit perfectly in my 1997 Thunderbird...just remember to wire the factory pre-amp to a hot wire when you hook up the speakers! All the features work perfectly and coupled with the BOSS Amplified 10" Woofer, it produces amazing music! Right products at a right price.

I bought this for my Plymouth Neon (2000) and love it. I had to get a installation kit for the Neon, but I love the player. It looks great and works awesome. Only complaint is that it has no time display. Great for the price though, and was easy to install.

5.0 out of 5 stars great unit for the price!, September 11, 2011

I mainly bought this unit for my ford focus so I could play my ipod using the aux input and it does that perfectly. I do not use the usb and sd card slots as I have not figured those aspects out yet.

It may not be the most feature heavy of car stereos, but the sound is great, there are a ton of presets, it plays ipod music perfectly and it looks great on my dashboard.

Bottom line: great price if your looking for a no frills, great sounding upgrade for your car!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, August 6, 2011
This review is from: Boss 638UA In-Dash CD/MP3 Receiver with Front Panel AUX Input & USB (Electronics)
It is a very good mp3 player, it has some what all options, like, pendrive port, memory card slot, and cd too. the only problem I felt is the buttons are too small and in order to pin the memory card we have to remove the face plate. But more than the cons. It give good sound and it is stable. I will recommand it.
