Lame,
By The Cool Guy (The City, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 666: The Beast (DVD)
This was one of the crummiest movies I've ever seen. I can't believe I wasted $1.25 and an hour and a half of my life on this. Cheesy, soap-opera-ey acting, stupid dialogue, and even stupider characters. (The priest in particular was incredibly unbelievable.) The story was par for the course, but didn't make much sense even as far as those goes. Also, the budget was laughably low. When the Beast stands before his massive group of worshippers, there's about 5 people standing there. Also, it looks like they filmed it all in some back alley somewhere in L.A., maybe in the San Pornando valley...
Speaking of which, I had read where the other reviewer said it had more sex and nudity than an X-rated film. Well, I kept hoping for that. I was thinking that would be the one good thing about this movie, you know? But on that count, this movie massively underdelivers. Apparently whoever wrote that doesn't watch many X-rated movies, because what meager sex scene there was wouldn't even pass as softcore on Showtime. Really weak. There were a lot of "freak out" moments thrown in, for some reason. I never quite got that. None of it made much sense really. The bad mentor guy never seemed to shut up; I got really sick of him after a while. The priest with his silly accent fell into the "so bad he's good" category. The main hero / protagonist / antagonist / whatever looked the part maybe, and his performance was earnest. But he's so uncharismatic that he never comes off as more than an overpaid soap star. That or the writing gave him nothing to work with. The Antichrist's motivations in this is what could have been cool, but fell totally flat. One scene, he's good. The next, he's drinking blood. It never shows why he turns to evil. Never shows any pain in his soul, or desire for anything greater than himself. It also completely skips over him having to kill HIS OWN SON. You'd think the movie would have reflected on that for at least one second perhaps... In short, I've got nothing against low-budget movies, but this plain sucked. If you want to watch a GOOD end times / antichrist movie, check out "The Omen III: The Final Conflict", starring Sam Neill. Now THAT is an awesome movie! Even if it is 30 years old :)

666: THE BEAST
Theasylum.cc " Genre that wouldn't die, ANTI-CHRIST CINEMA !" In the tradition of Devil's Advocate, Omen , and Stigmata...Well sort of. This is a direct sequel to 666: The Child,And the boy has grown up and become the leader of the devil's new army. The director's commentary will amuse and there is no fighting for the microphone like Theasylum's usual. Collin Brock as the lead priest is the best of male leads, Great accent. The actresses are very well represented by- Makinna Ridgway is very talented as our resident good girl and The Bad Girl, Alma Saraci steals evey scene she is in with a million dollar arse( Which the producers INSISTED on showing numerous occasions). The film was good and obviously the original did well,But would have preferred a sequel to DRACULA'S CURSE, lol!

666= the devil, the antichrist and false prophet. Plays more like a religous drama than a horror film. Worth seeing.

Worst film ever?,
This review is from: 666: The Beast (DVD)
How this film got funding or had the nerve to be released who knows.Comments made when watching were maybe it'll get better if we stick with it after the first 20 mins. Read a similar review elsewhere and the fact is it only goes downhill. Its so bad its almost laughable , awful acting, sea sick camera work and a college project would be more slick.Didn't think many films would challenge Blair Witch 2 for not living up to its advertising image and expectations but this is even worse.Glad to have a copy to force other people to watch it though for its laughter factor or maybe the CIA can use it to dull some senses in prisoners.Easily the worst film i've ever seen so atleast it has some claim to fame.

Don't you hate people who lie about a movie because they have some personal involvement in it? Ignore the other reviews. This is garbage.

This review is from: 666: The Beast (DVD)
I was a bit hesitant before seeing the movie but after viewing it I can easily attest that this movie is nothing more than 85 minutes of pure cinematic gold. The acting is superb with dialogue and reactions that one would normally attribute to a low budget porn film. Which only adds to its overall greatness. The films only shining light came in the form of Father Deacon Cane played excellently by Colin Brock. My sister was quite taken with this young hansome actor and said that he can deliver her child anytime. Overall, this B movie was entertaining enough to warrant another viewing.
