5.0 out of 5 stars i love this album
Who knew kiwi's could rock like this??!!! Sounding like they never take the Stooges and Mudhoney out of their cd players. These kiwis kick some serious rock and roll ass. I picked this up on a whim when i was picking up White Stripes latest, know what, this was the better of the purchases, BY FAR. Rock on kiwis, hope to hear more from you soon.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you like this sort of thing...
The other reviewers pretty much hit the nail on the head, I suppose this CD really just isn't my style. I really just bought it because it was the coolest looking CD I'd seen in a while, the outside of the case was wraped up like the old packs of baseball cards, I thought that in its self was worth my 10 bucks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Change Of Pace..., May 29, 2004

This review is from: 6Twenty (Audio CD)
Dont get me wrong, I love the whole pop punk/emo thing...ALOT, but after months of nothing but bands like NFG and Rufio, I needed a change. My friend let me listen to "6twenty" one day on the way home from school in his car and i was amazed at how much power and energy was on this C.D. The next day I went and got myself a copy for only 7 bucks (even though it's well worth more) and to this day I still listen to it. It's Pure energy without a dull moment to speak of, and from the first track, you'll be hooked. True, there aint nothin on here too ground breakin lyric wise, but for the music, it totally kicks a**...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Rock'N'Roll Album of the Year...So Far, June 27, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: 6Twenty (Audio CD)
THe D4's 620 is the by no comparison the best rock album I have heard so far this year, maybe in the past few years. There isn't much substance to it, no glossy production, not too many chord changes on the guitar. It is a straightforward rock album from start to finish, and extremely raw. It is really great listening to on a road trip, at a party, or just about anywhere. My personal favorite tracks you might want to check out are: Rock'n'Roll Motherf***er, Get Loose, Exit to the City, and Runnin on Empty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rock n roll!, May 13, 2003
This review is from: 6twenty (Audio CD)
This is the import version of 6Twenty by the D4.It came out before the U.S.A release but they both are almost identicle. There is one less song in this import version and its more expensive than the U.S.A version because its an import so I suggest you buy the newer,American version of 6Twenty.This is still one rockin' album that is very well worth owning.

5.0 out of 5 stars The D4-6 Twenty, May 26, 2004
By A Customer

How can you not like this cd? It has all the essential elements that a rock band needs. I like it a lot as well because it bought it for 2.00 off the streets of new york. The riffs and catchy choruses all blend together to make a great sound. The D4 are the future of garage/punk rock and they're gonna be big for sure someday.

4.0 out of 5 stars paaaaarty, July 21, 2003

Like an ode to CBGBs in the 70s the D4 wear their influences on their sleeve and are not ashamed of it.
The bands manifesto (if there is one) is laid down on the opening track 'rock & roll motherf****er' and followed up without a hint of irony on track two 'party' - the rest is a sonic reduction of fuzzed out garage punk from Johnny Thunders' 'pirate love' to a cover of the Japanese punksters guitar wolfs 'invader ace' not since the Ramones declared they wanted to sniff some glue has there been so much debauchery on one recording. If you are a fan of no holds barred garage/punk then this is not to be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Get Loose", July 11, 2003

The D4 are today's punk pioneers. I see a bright future for these guys. Look out for this band & for this album. I can't decide on the best song on this album, but I can tell you that the bass lines & drums are excellent, & the singing is simple but catchy. All of the songs have their own unique rhythm. And as my tenth review with Amazon.com I'm glad that it was this album. This album should be considered one of the best punk albums of the decade.

4.0 out of 5 stars The D4 have created one rockin' album..., June 25, 2003
This review is from: 6Twenty (Audio CD)
The D4 have created one album that simply just rocks!Yeah, this is a very rockin' album that most people will probably enjoy. The lyrics aren't really anything special, but their guitars sound pretty damn cool. Most of the songs are really good, and this cd also contains a video for their song 'Get Loose'.And,if you have never heard any music by the D4,they sound like a regular rock band mixed with punk. This is good stuff, and I reccomend it.

i picked this up on recommendation from a pal. holy shnikeys is this cd good! having a vast catalog of great bands in my cd cases at home these guys fit right in with the new york dolls, johnny thunders and the heartbreakers, and every other drug adled band that gave birth to the glorious sounds of rock that make people stand up and say, "that's cool!" don't expect any socially profound message other than "get loose, party, and forget the rest of the uptight wankers of the world!" highly recommended. truly a great lil' slab of rock!
