I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife. I don't know much about pearls--having only bought her a necklace and earrings a few years ago--but I do understand gifts. This arrived (late) in a cheezy box, with not even the slightest indication that it was an akoya pearl necklace, or even just a genuine pearl necklace, or even what it was at all, other than a black bead necklace. No label. No certification. Nothing but beads hanging in a 50 cent box. I'm not paying $600 for jewelry that looks like I bought it at a junk shop. I buy a lot from Amazon, and am usually very, very happy, but this has not been a good experience, and it's going back. I have learned my lesson not to buy items or from sellers who are not rated. Hope its replacement arrives before Christmas.
