Strange, but very ironic, June 23, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: 7 Lieder (Audio CD)
Hannes Wader is one of the most intellectual songwriter in Germany/Europe. On his album "7 Lieder" you find seven songs - or just say: seven tracks. Songs are sung, but Hannes Wader only plays with his guitar - and tells the listener seven little stories (on German of course).
Especially the track "Der Tankerkönig" is very strange to hear. Wader tells over eleven minutes about something like a dream that he had. In this dream he acts like Michael Douglas in the movie "Falling Down": He runs amoc with a machine-pistol, a huge gun, and terrorize the people.
You have to know, that Hannes Wader is an old "68er". That means that he is very liberal and tolerant. But he can sing in a very very ironical way. So this album is one of the most significant works of Wader. If you understand a little bit German you'll love it.
