1.0 out of 5 stars The Best Yet
This cd is by far the best I have ever heard yet. Because it includes two bonous tracks, Lately and Never Had A Dream Come True, it says something. What does it say? That you can decide for your self. Me, personally, I think it gives it an extra oompf, something that it didn't have before. A really great hit song, Never Had A Dream Come True.

Their prestine image denotes another pop sensation like Christina or Britney, but it breaks away from the American pop tridition like the fore mentioned two. S Club 7 combines great vocals with a unique mix of R&B and BritPop, into something that stands out from the rest of the pack. The beautiful voice of the lovely Jo O'Mera compilments the melody of Never Had a Dream Come True, perfectly. The other 6 members of the band is also take turns to exhibit their skills. One notable song is Natural, which is very popular in Britain. It is a very memorable song with great lyrical work. I actually quite enjoyed the song Best Friends, on this CD. The tune is very R&B, and Bradley MacIntosh did a very good job with the vocals. All in love is fair combines both the melodic voice of Jo and Bradley together for a great rendition of the classic theme of broken hearts. Overall I though the CD was excellent and deserves much praise from the American music loving public. Everyone should buy it for it's musical merits.

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD Is On Repeat!, March 17, 2001
By
"coolkidsfromky" (Pleasureville, Kentucky) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 7 (Audio CD)
That's Right, I've Been Playing This CD ON CONSTANT REPEAT since I bought it. It's SO great! It blows the equally great debut out of the water!

(Track reviews. 1 is worst. 5 is best.)

Reach- 4.7 - This song is wonderful. It's filled with a positive message. Jon and Paul's solos are excellent from two not normally featured S Clubbers, and Jo's and Brad's a great as well. A Kickin' dance tune.

Natural- 4.8 - The first time I heard this song I was like.. whoa! It's a VERY sweet and great song with Rachel taking the lead vocals. It kicks booty!

I'll Keep Waiting- 4.4 - This song is awesome. Everyone can relate to it and Brad does a great job on the rap.

Bring The House Down- 4.7 - That's what this rockin' song will do. Jo's sassy vocals make you want to "raise the roof and get on the floor". One of my faves.

Best Friend- 4.7 - With the lead going Brad and the back-ups to Jon and Paul, the guys prove once again, just like on "Gonna Change The World" that they can have good songs too. You'll definately relate.

All In Love Is Fair- 5.0 - This song can make you cry if you're having guy trouble (it's a song for the ladies). Jo takes lead and Brad does a rap at the end. One of my "fab four" from the album.

Love Train- 4.4 - A very funky positive song with lead vocals by Paul. A good dance song.

Cross My Heart- 5.0- I LOVE this song. Jo takes the vocals on this song (Jo's my fave girl S Clubber Jon's my fave guy, hehe). When you've lost a guy/girl or you're losing one, this song brings back memories. One of my "fab four"

The Colour Of Blue- 4.7- Jo does a great job on this song singing about a guy who's a true blue guy. A great song for the beginning of a romance.

I'll Be There- 5.0- Tina works her vocal magic on this song. I fell in love with it when I saw "Into The Unknown". A terrific love song. Another of my "fab four".

Stand By You- 4.9- A song of devotion for your guy/girl. Hannah and Tina sing lead and it's an excellent song to listen to. I only wanna be with you... I only wanna be with you...

Spiritual Love- 4.6- Bradley does the rap on this song and Jo sings back-up. It's a great song proving that love isn't all about sex and physical things. It can be spiritual.

Lately- 4.6- Bradley actually SINGS! Ahh! The guys do back-up. It's a great song guys! You did it again!

Never Had A Dream Come True- 5.0- I absolutely love this song. Jo sings the most beautiful vocals ever. Definately my favorite track. It's a song about lost love. Everyone will enjoy the more mature S Club.

I hope you like it as much as I did!

5.0 out of 5 stars One In A Million Find, April 24, 2005
This review is from: 7 (Audio CD)
This album is one of my favorites. You can listen to it for pure, clean fun. It is more mature than their first album 'S Club', but S Club 7 are still not really into that 'mature' stage with their music.

1) Reach - 10/10 - You hear a little bit of every band member, and the song really gets you up and moving. It's about following your hearts and your dreams. It's sort of like 'Bring It All Back' on their first album, but this song is so much more catchy.

2) Natural - 10/10 - This is my definition of a song. I love it, it's excellent! Rachel breathes new life into the song with her catchy vocals. It's a song on repeat!

3) I'll Keep Waiting - 7/10 - I have never really cared for this song, and don't think I ever will. I'm not much into rap, and Bradley raps through the song. The chorus is nice though, and really clears up the verses.

4) Bring The House Down - 9/10 - This is one of those party songs, like 'S Club Party', or 'Friday Night'. It used to be my favorite track on the album, because it was so danceable and excitable. You can only listen to it for so long though, before it starts to wear you down.

5) Best Friend - 8/10 - Another song Bradley raps through... ugh... I hate rap. But the chorus yet again saves the song. I must say this is a better rap song, the melody is catchy.

6) All In Love Is Fair - 8/10 - This is a nice, slow ballad. Infact, it's a little to slow for me. Jo has beautiful vocals, and Bradley really cuts through, but the song is just soooo slow and boring. I kept saying 'How much longer is this song?'

7) Love Train - 9/10 - I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. Paul has wonderful vocals, and the chorus gave me some chills down the spine. It bores you down though, after hearing it so many times.

8) Cross My Heart - 8/10 - I absolutley LOVE the beat to this song! It hooks you! The vocals on the other hand... ugh... it was just badly arranged.

9) The Colour Of Blue - 10/10 - This song is really catchy. Jo has lead vocals, and does well. The chorus was wonderful.

10) I'll Be There - 10/10 - For the first time, Tina has lead. Her whispery voice clings you to the song. The beat was great, and the bridge sent chills down my spine.

11) Two In A Million (Boyfriends And Birthdays Version - 10/10 - Basically the same as the original Two In A Million. It's one of the best ballads I have ever really loved and enjoyed. It's excellent!

12) Lately - 9/10 - This is another ballad, but I found it rather slow. The chorus sent chills down my spine though, I love it! This song has been performed on American Idol numerous times.

13) Never Had A Dream Come True - 10/10 - The best ballad of all time. Jo's vocals blow you away. This song climbed into the charts, all the way to #10 in 2001. Definitley one of my favorites on this album.

The CD cover comes with pictures of each S Clubber, words to ALL of the songs, and of course credits and thank yous...

I'd recommend listening to the 30 second clip of each song on the above tracklisting that Amazon provides. They give you a real feel for each song.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a group...I LOVE THEM!!!, January 23, 2006

This review is from: 7 (Audio CD)
S Club 7 from day one has always been my favorite group of all times. I love the message that they try to send to people. "7" is a great album with new tracks to listen and love. Naturally there are songs not so much greater than others, but here's my review on a scale of 1 - 10...

Reach - Very catchy, but kinda long 8/10

Natural - I like the TV series version better than the album version but it's still a good song 9/10

I'll Keep Waiting - Nice relaxing beat, but the verses are a little cheesy (no disrespect Bradley) 7/10

Bring the House Down - Great song with an excellent chorus 10/10

Best Friend - I like the feel of this song. Great friendship song 9/10

All in Love Is Fair - Absolutely love this song!! Need I say more... 10/10

Love Train - Not one of my favorites, but catchy 6/10

Cross My Heart - Yet another excellent song with the R&B feel to it 10/10

The Colour of Blue - Good song, but very repetitive 6/10

I'll Be There - Love this song! Tina is my favorite forever!! 10/10

Two in a Million - When I first heard this song, I thought it should be used at a wedding or anniversary. Excellent choice of vocals and instruments. In other words...perfect 10/10

Lately - I love the remake of Stevie Wonder's song. Bradley really outdid himself 10/10

Never Had a Dream Come True - This song made me cry on the first listen. Any song that can make me cry definitely gets a full score 10/10

On average, i give "7" a 9. Keep up the great work!!

4.0 out of 5 stars S Club 7 - great album, May 6, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 7 (Audio CD)
1. Reach - Probably one of the best songs on this album. Everyone knows the routine & a big hit for S Club 7. 10/10

2. Natural- This song grew on me, Rachel has a lovely voice. 9/10

3. I'll Keep Waiting- Its okay, but not one of my favourites 6/10

4. Bring the House Down- Im not very keen on this song, i think it just got played a bit too much during the TV series & on the tours. 5/10

5. Best Friend- This track is okay, but Brad & Paul's voices are quite weak and this ruins the song a bit 5/10

6. All in Love Is Fair- A great song, sung by Jo. A little bit different but really good 10/10

7. Love Train- Again, it grew on me after a few listens. Paul's voice is not great, but worth a listen 7/10

8. Cross My Heart- Really good song with really nice lyrics. 8/10

9. Colour of Blue- Another great poppy song sung by Jo 9/10

10. I'll Be There- An average track sung by Tina who doesnt have a very strong voice but pulls it off okay 7/10

11. Two in a Million - One of my favourites 10/10

12. Lately- A soulful cover version sung by Bradley which is quite good 7/10

13. Never Had a Dream Come True - One of S Club's most successful & best songs, definitely listen to this one 10/10

Overall, a good 2nd album with a great mixture of songs & lead singers.

5.0 out of 5 stars To the S!!!, August 12, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 7 (Audio CD)
This is S Club's 2nd CD. these are the songs they performed on their TV show "L.A. 7" (their 2nd season). This CD is Great! but not as great as "Seeing Double" (their 4th and final CD)

1. Reach: (4/5) sort of like "Bring it All Back" only a different beat. gets old after you listen to it a lot. all get their turn to sing
2. Natural (5/5) Rachel on lead vocals. a slower song but fantastic.
3. I'll Keep Waiting (4.5/5) Bradley on lead vocals, and all sing the chorus. RnB-ish
4. Bring the House Down (5/5) very upbeat and makes you want to dance. Jo on lead vocals.
5. Best Friend (3/5) Bradley on lead. Rap-like song.
6. All in Love is Fair (5/5) Jo on lead. slower song. very mellow but is a great song.
7. Love Train (5/5) at first i hated it but the more i listen to it the more i like it. Paul on lead and everyone sings the chorus.
8. Cross My Heart (5/5) once again, Jo is on lead. very great song to just listen to while you relax.
9. Colour of Blue (5/5) Jo on lead (i think). a very peppy S Clubish song.
10. I'll Be There (5/5) Tina on lead! YAY! she sounds fantastic considering she hardly ever sings lead!
11. Two in a Million (5/5) Jo on vocals. a great ballad.
12. Lately (5/5) Bradley on lead. a slow, soft, sad song. excellent. you have to hear this song. my favorite song that has bradley on lead.
13. Never Had a Dream Come True (5/5) Jo on lead. another great ballad.

Also get "S Club" (s clubs 1st album) "sunshine" (their 3rd album) and "seeing double" (4th album)

A Kid's Review
This review is from: 7 (Audio CD)
I just have to say that S Club 7's CD 7 is the best. It has a little of everything a little pop music from Jo,Hannah,Tina, and Rachel and some rap and R&B from "the boys" Jon,Paul, and Bradley. From their recent single "Never Had A Dream Come True" it has swept not only In the United Kingdom but also MTV and the United States.I have read reviews that Adults like this song and other songs. It is also one of my personal favorite songs that they did. You are probably wondering how they came together... It all started over in England and those 7 that made s club 7 were picked out of over 10,000 auditions. They first started on their show on Fox Family "S Club in Miami" and then went to L.A. You should really think about considering to buy this CD I that all 7 of them have really put a lot of time in to it!

5.0 out of 5 stars their best effort.... 2 problems........, February 6, 2005

s club 7 is a great pop group... their is at least one person in the group that you can either relate to or think is hot... one of the only other groups like that were the spice girls....

7 is their best effort to date with ingenious classics: 'cross my heart', 'i'll be there', 'never had a dream come true', and 'natural'... and the infectious: 'lately', 'bring the house down', and 'reach'

the 2 problems on this album are that 'spiritual love' and 'stand by u' are not present on this album (the US version). they sang these songs on the S CLUB 7 show and i thought they would make the cut on the final cd but it was not there. in my opinion these ARE the best singles on the album....

but if i had to choose one that IS on the album i had to pick natural..... this song has a r&b feel to it and rachels voice is just enchanting on this song.... the single mix is better in my opinion (it has a harder feel than the album version)...

overall this album is their best effort with great dance and baby makin songs and you will not be disappointed

3.0 out of 5 stars Good effort, May 25, 2004

This review is from: 7 (Audio CD)
Although it's been 3 years, I liked their album from 2001. Would have liked the danceable tunes to have been singles in the US. But they went for Never Had A Dream Come True (they loved those sappy ballads). Took me a few listens, but I liked it. It would have sounded good in summer 1989 with its summertime feel. Not many vocal groups today have 7 members like this one, but all of them sound and can sing good. Miss their show on ABC Family, but it was that unique and funny. I wish them the best as a group.
