Remember grade school when your teacher made you memorize the multiplication tables? Remember how hard it was to keep them straight long enough to pass off each set? Remember how much you wanted to earn the ice cream reward once you learned them all? Remember how everyone learned them faster than you? Wilson Williams knows exactly how you felt. He's stuck in the middle of multiplication and everyone in his class-Heck, even his little brother!--is doing better than he is. Wilson just knows he will be the last to finish. That's not his only worry. Wilson wants a pet, but the closest he will ever get is being able to take home the class hamster, Squiggles. Whether it's been years or days since you learned how to multiply or taught your child to do so, you'll suffer right along with Wilson. Be sure to treat yourself to an ice cream when you finish reading his delightful story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nor for anyone over 2nd or 3rd grade, July 8, 2008

My son enjoyed this book; however, going into 4th grade, it is a bit too easy. He read it in less than a day which is not really the objective of summer reading....

My 8 year old was having a hard time with his 3rd grade multiplication tables when this title caught my eye. How appropriate was this book! Even had he not been in a similar predicament as the books' main character, my son would giggled just as much!

A tale well written and close to home, it was a great book for us to read together. I especially recommend it for those reluctant readers, as it's a fairly easy read without too many challenging words.

5.0 out of 5 stars Help for struggling math students, March 12, 2006
This review is from: 7 x 9 = Trouble! (Paperback)
This title is a terrific book share or read aloud with students from 3rd and 4th grades (some 2nd graders) as they are struggling with learning the more difficult times tables. Currently having a groups of 3rd grade readers, and a granddaughter, who are trying to learning them now, they relate well to the character who agonizes over the nine times tables, among others. He is rescued by a classmate who shares some practical tips to help him master the operation. It's a humorous look at a school problem that so many students experience!

4.0 out of 5 stars What I Think About This Book, January 5, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 7 x 9 = Trouble! (Paperback)
7x9=Trouble

I think 7x9= Trouble is very interesting and also funny book. The characters of this book are a boy called Wilson, a dad, a mom, and a little brother. The problem is that Wilson can't memorize his 9's on multiplication. He gets homework that will be able to help him on the 9's. One interesting part is when Wilson's brother helped him to get the right answer by his hands. By time he learned it and turned out that he passed the 9's. Another reason it is funny is that he gets a pet and Wilson said that his gerbil was smarter than him. These are some interesting and hilarious parts of the book

4.0 out of 5 stars 7x9=trouble review, January 5, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 7 x 9 = Trouble! (Paperback)
7x9=Trouble is funny and realistic. Wilson can't Finish his times tables until May14th and he had a little brother that bothers him when he's practicing the times tables. Also when you finish your times tables you'll get an ice cream cone. It was a good book because the ending is a bit funny and throughout the book it is funny. It is realistic because I was stuck on my multiplication in 3rd grade. Another reason I liked the book is that squiggles gets lost which he class pet. That's why 7x9=trouble is a really good book to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Third Grade Class Review, February 16, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 7 x 9 = Trouble! (Paperback)
This book is so cool! We like the way it talks about math. The main character is Wilson. It takes place mostly in a school. Wilson is a third grader, like us. He has until March 16th to pass all of the multiplication tests through the twelves. He is having a hard time learning them. At the beginning of the book, he has only passed the threes. Read this book to find out if he learns the times tables in time to earn an ice cream cone.
