i am very happy with my two salt lamps. they are huge; they look wonderful with just a little xmas bulb. they are always "on" & working to improve my environment (i live off a main thoroughfare with a lot of traffic). i recommend this product both for its appearance and its health-giving properties. i already had one salt lamp that i got about 5 years ago. it is still operating, 24/7, and i think i changed the bulb only 2 or 3 times.

I'm sure the lamps would look good if they were not so beat up. I suppose I could blame the shipping co. But that would not be fair. The 2 lamps 30lbs, were in a flimsy cardboard box which was not sturdy enough for this weight. It was a little mangled. Inside I expected to find the lamps in nice boxes as most things come in, instead it was almost paper thin & totaly mangled & torn. No way I can use them. Others I have bought are always nicely boxed for gift giving. Worst of all the lamps are half white & looked scraped & salt is falling off.
This is no way to deliver a package. I won't be giving these to anyone for Christmas.
Very disappointing

First the product is excellent! Good size, good looking, and has made a noticeable difference in air quality in just two days!

Second, shipping was very fast! I suspect they are pre-boxed and ready to go out the door.

The internal boxes did look imported, but the product did not suffered for low quality card board boxes, the outer box was sturdy, and stuffing was more than adequate to prevent jostling.

Overall, one of the better shopping experiences of the year!

I read numerous reviews of salt lamps sold through Amazon before buying these. To address some of points brought up in the negative reviews:

The boxes that the lamps come in are flimsy thin cardboard, and yes, if they were shipped in those boxes, they would arrive in pieces. However, those boxes were put in a foam-peanut-packed sturdy box, and they arrived at my home in perfect condition. The light bulbs were in great shape, no problems at all. This is a video of the lamps fresh out of the box, showing how the light fits in the lamp, how big the lamps are, and how easy set up is.

The lights are the big holiday bulbs and are set in the lamp with a spring-loaded contraption, so they are very secure in the lamp. They will NOT fall out, and there are notches on the bottom of the lamp for the cord to go through so that the lamp can sit flush on the surface. The bulbs weren't marked with wattage, and no instructions came with the lamp. So, when the bulb dies I'll just have to find a similar-looking bulb and hope for the best.

The lamps themselves are heavy. They weighed a little over five pounds each. Shipping plus the cost of the lamps ($13) totaled about $35. Would have been cheaper to buy them in person, but I have nowhere close to me to do that, so buying online was really the only option. The lamps I received were nicely carved; they had no flat surfaces.

I did notice that the cord and spring-loaded bulb that I received is different than the one in the pictures. They seem to have improved the light fixture, possibly due to the complaints mentioned by others in the various salt lamp reviews. I was prepared to replace a broken bulb and poor light fixture, but didn't have to.

One of the three star reviews said, "I have not licked them yet either to see if they are taste salty." I did lick them. They are quite salty!

While I don't really know about the claims for ion generation, these lamps are really as beautiful as everyone says. The only bulb I had when I got them was red, and it made the lamp look like "the Great Dragon Heart". They give a warm glow even nicer than candlelight. Anyone coming into my apartment comments on them. No one believes they are really salt, until I give them an explanation and demonstration. I do have a little concern about the mining of this ancient salt, and the wiring/socket is not ul approved and a little flimsy, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Almost thinking about ordering more.

We are enjoying the lamps. My wife is very happy with them. So am I!

Received 2 lamps as a gift, and loved them as soon as I turned them on. The soft yellow/orange light they produce is instantly calming and relaxing, and the warmth of the lamp itself is soothing to the touch. They produce more light than a night light but much less than a normal table lamp, so they give the room a soft glow without any other lighting. We leave ours on 24/7. The approximate size of the lamps in inches, in addition to weight, would have been valuable information before purchasing. It's difficult to guess size from the photos shown.

First of all the packaging for my two lamps was good. I'm giving 3 stars because one side of one of the lamps was cut straight/flat and smooth instead of having a natural formation/shape. I didn't like this so I placed the lamp on a table that is next to the wall in my living room. That way the flat side of the lamp faces the wall. I didn't send it back because of the added cost of shipping it would incur. The other lamp was ok. So you will be taking a chance on getting a flat sided lamp if you want to order these.

These salt lamps added a soothing glow into my bedroom at night! They also help me to unwind... and i've even found they make a good small reading lamp. Also, the price for two lamps could not have been beat! Enjoy:)

I ordered the set of two, that were well packaged and similar but individual in look. They are sizable and were easy to set up. Gorgeous light color/ambiance. Will give it a few days to see if I notice any difference in air quality per the ionizing effect. The one thing I did notice is this: using one as a night light for the grand kids, the one who usually coughs through the night (has mild asthma) didn't cough at all once he got into deep sleep. This is a definite plus.
