4.0 out of 5 stars Good solid ideas for photographers of all levels January 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've been doing photography for most of my life. During that time I've fallen into many ruts - picking one or two topics to saturate myself with, or one or two techniques. That's one of the reasons I like this book - it's filled with 70 "lessons" for photography, although I prefer to think of them as 70 "ideas". For example, #21 is a suggestion to shoot film instead of digital - mostly because film forces us to really take the time to compose a shot, rather than clicking off 50 shots in a burst. He also discusses using the histogram (which I find very useful) as well as getting those great photos that are in your own backyard.

A good group of solid ideas for people just starting out in photography, or old hands who have fallen into one too many ruts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good to study your manual first! March 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Great book to get perhaps a photographer who already has some experience with their camera. It gets the photographer out of 'automatic' mode and into a more creative mode. The book reads quickly and gets your gears rolling.

It's like little assignments within each chapter and if you can concentrate and do each one you'll do pretty good.

Open up your creativity and find new things to do but you probably never did before!

I would definitely recommend this book to friends
