5.0 out of 5 stars I'm DONE with newspaper bags

1.0 out of 5 stars Not even remotely biodegradable
These bags are plain old plastic with a chemical catalyst (heavy metals like Cobalt and Lead) that are supposed to help the plastic break down...into millions of pieces of plastic. This is not biodegradation.

These do not meet the ASTM 6400-99 specification for biodegradability. They do not meet the California requirement for use of the term biodegradable...

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm DONE with newspaper bags, January 30, 2010

For many, many years, I've been saving the plastic bag the newspaper comes in to use as a bag to pick up after my dogs. And for many, many years, I've thought "one of these days, I'm going to BUY bags."

This thought would usually come following a pickup-gone-bad. In other words, one of those mornings where I discovered that the newspaper bag actually had a few holes in it as a result of the newspaper sliding on the concrete driveway when it was delivered.

I finally decided I would check on Amazon to see what kind of dog waste bags were available and settled on these. I figured that 700 bags would last close to a year (two dogs... do the math), but I didn't want to buy a larger supply as I wasn't sure where I was going to store all those rolls of bags.

I shouldn't have worried. In fact, when my 700 bags arrived, I initially thought that they had screwed up the order, because I couldn't believe that there were THAT many bags in THAT small a box. But they really take up almost no room at all. (I HAVE POSTED PRODUCT PHOTOS SHOWING JUST HOW SMALL THESE BAG-ROLLS ARE.)

Despite the small size of the rolls, each individual bag is more than ample in size. In fact, I have two dogs --a 60-pound border collie, and a 100-pound lab, and neither of them can "produce" anything that can't be cleanly picked up. And let's be honest. That IS the most important attribute of a dog-waste-bag. A CLEAN pick up. Because a "dirty" pickup with wreck your whole morning!

4.0 out of 5 stars Thin bags, March 25, 2009
This review is from: 700 Biodegradable, Dog Waste Bags, Pet Waste Bags - BLUE + FREE Bone Dispenser, by Pet Supply City LLC (Misc.)
The bags are a bit thin and will tear if you are not careful. However, they get the job done, and you really can't beat the price. I would order them again. The dispenser is nothing to brag about, but I was ordering these to fill a dispenser I had so I just chucked the free one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Am I really writing a review for poop bags?!, February 17, 2010

So much better than the over-priced and cheap quality Petco brand ones I would get.

They are made out of a thicker/strudier plastic. They have a defined perforated line which makes it super easy to separate from the roll. I have a 15 pound maltipoo, and his "business" perfectly fits.

They are shorter than the Petco brand ones, by about 2 inches. So, if you have a large dog it might not be big enough...

The price for these bags is unbeatable and I received 5 extra rolls because they were out of blue and sent purple instead. I don't care much about the color so additional bags for the same price seems like a good deal. On the down side, the bags are thin so I would not recommend them for anything bigger than a 10 pound pup. If you're looking for a sturdier bag, I would not get these.

1.0 out of 5 stars Biodegradable - NOPE!, December 5, 2010
This review is from: 700 Biodegradable, Dog Waste Bags, Pet Waste Bags - BLUE + FREE Bone Dispenser, by Pet Supply City LLC (Misc.)
If you care about not putting yet more plastic in landfills, don't buy these bags. They are NOT biodegradable @ all. Look here: http://www.amazon.com/Biodegradable-Waste-Green-Signatured-Dispenser/dp/B003GQRSGO/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
or look at the corn based ones - which are sort of expensive. But these bags will not break down anymore than ordinary plastic bags. They are a scam. If they removed the claim of biodegradable, they'd at least be honest. But they are knowingly marketing a product dishonestly to make more money - not okay in my book.

Obviously, for those who aren't so concerned about landfills and the environment, that's another story.

Poop bags are so expensive. We have two dogs and go through so many. I also like that they are biodegradable and easy to open. I don't use the dispenser.

These bags are incredible. Let's say your dog takes a huge crap. Don't phone a friend, don't cry, don't commit suicide. Grab a biodegradable Chinese poo bag from your box of 700 and PICK UP THE EVIL! Do it for America. Do it knowing the bag will disintegrate before you die, unlike plutonium or baby diapers. Don't be a fecal terrorist and leave your doggie chocolate for some schmuck to step in in his new Air Jordans. Buy 700 poo bags today and let everyone know how much the USA kicks butt. GUITAR SOLO!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, March 24, 2010
This review is from: 700 Biodegradable, Dog Waste Bags, Pet Waste Bags - BLUE + FREE Bone Dispenser, by Pet Supply City LLC (Misc.)
These are NOT Bags on Board brand and if you are used to that brand, you will be very disappointed with these. They are much smaller (not good when you have a large dog) and very poor quality in comparison. They also tear very easily. The sticker that keeps the roll together tore the first bag on my first two rolls and to top it off, they tear very easily when picking up after your dog - not exactly what you want to have on your hands! I was trying to save a few bucks, but am definitely going back to Bags on Board - they are worth the extra cost!

A leaf is generally considered to be biodegradable but it will not pass the composting standard due to the 180 day limit in ASTM D6400. I contacted the seller and they stated that the bags were made of corn, and are bio degradable. I use them love them, they are actually pretty sturdy for poo bags and have yet to rip on me. They fit right into the dispenser and do the job taking care of my 90 lb LAB
