The first day I used it I noticed that all that it did was BLOCK OUT some sounds instead of make them louder, so I got rid of it.I've seen stuff way better than that like the supersonic ear I'm going to be getting that.

This is another fun toy from Wild Planet's popular Spy Gear line of toys, the "Spy Micro Listener" works pretty good for it's size. It has a clip on the back to clip it to your shirt pocket. As other reviewers mentioned the cord is a little too short, but you can work with it. You simply aim the dish shaped antenna ear in the direction you want to ehar from. It is good as far as 30 feet away for small sounds. You can hear whispers from down the hall or across a big room, it sounds like the person is whispering right in your ear. Like all listening devices it amplifies all sound, not just the ones you want to hear. That bothers some reviewers, but that is the way sound travels.

It is durable, we have had ours without problem for 1 year, and it has the original batteries. This device is also sold with a great belt and other spy gadgets in a kit called the "Micro Spy Kit", also at Amazon. If you need a more powerful listening device for kids, try the "Spy Supersonic Ear" also from Wild Planet, sold here at Amazon. But it is much bigger and cannot be hidden like the micro version on this page.

This toy does go 30ft and it is pretty durable. I love this, I play with it almost everyday!

I got this toy for my daughters friend who is eight. He loved it! It kept all the kids entertained for at least an hour as they were trying to listen in and "spy" on everyone. It really does work. Cool toy!!!

This is an absolutely essential piece of spy equipment. It amplifies the sound waves so you can do sneaky things like hear around corners or listen to people talk like they are trapped inside an empty soda can. The only problem is that the wire from the earpiece to the high tech listening device is kind of short. Oh yeah, if you clip it onto your shirt, its totally obvious what it is - it says "Spy Micro Listener" right on it - they need to take that off so its not so obvious that you're trying to spy. It's not super durable - it's high tech so you'll have to be careful with it - like you'd be with a baby or box of nerds that your mom told you - "You better not spill those all over my floor!"

I purchased this toy for my son for his 8th birthday. He has had alot of fun with it. I have tried it on occasion. I was able to hear my dad whisper in the living room from the kitchen. Though this toy isnt very educational...its alot of fun. My son loves it. Its his favorite spy gear toy. its a good value for the money and to tell ya the truth...i would like to have one....

children and adults in my household have had lots of fun with this toy.

THIS TOY IS CRAP.I DONT KNOW WHY SOMEBODY WOULD SELL IT?FOLKS DONT BUY IT FOR YOUR CHILD.

The kids have fun running around with this toy playing "Spy." Great fun!

This toy would have been a blast for me, but it just had to have the no-volume-knob. Way too loud! Harmful to any child's ear. From a nearby cough to far away dish and fork clanking. OUCH! I'm almost certain, I don't know , but I do beleive I had a terrible ear ach after only five minutes of use. :(
