4.0 out of 5 stars Great knife jig for medium to large kitchen knifes
Jet 708019 KJ-1 jig for JSSG-10- Wet Sharpener
This jig works great for knifes from about 4 to 12 inches in length. When you try to sharpen smaller knives like pocket knives the jig does not have enough clearance between the grinding wheel and the jig and you wind up grinding the jig instead of the knife. I use it for 4 to 12 inch knives and it woorks great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works OK
I guess this works OK with the JET sharpener but for the Grizzly, the jaws are just too thick to get the proper angle on small knives. I was told the you can use old planer blades between the knife and jaws to get the correct angle but I find that the set sold by Grizzly works far better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked Well, April 23, 2008

Was able to restore the factory edge on my high end knives. Suprised me that it held and tracked so well. The only thing I do not like about the JET system is you have to watch the DVD (the DVD demonstration is a very cool and useful feature) in order to figure out the system. There is no book so you better have a DVD player at hand. The edge is slightly hollow-grind because it is a round wheel. I would recommend the system to someone who is serious about an edge or wants to start a sharpening business. For me it was money well spent, but I can't stand a dull edge.

1.0 out of 5 stars Different angles on each side, July 3, 2007
This review is from: JET 708019 KJ-1 Knife Jig for JSSG-10 Wet Sharpener (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have this jig. It is asymmetrical. I can't just turn the knife and jig over to sharpen the second side. The DVD shows it being done that way, but if I set one side to 25 degrees, it puts about an impossible angle on the other side of the blade. It works well if you are willing to unmount, turn over, and remount every blade you are sharpening. I am very disappointed with this design. And it is thick enough that for small pocket knives it just doesn't work. The thickness of the clamp gets in the way and hits the grinding wheel.

This jig worked perfect for all my kitchen knives. From the 12" chef knife to the steak knives.

The finish\casting of the jig wasn't top quality, thus the 4 rating. But it doesn't seem to impact the quality of the sharpening.
