The Silence of Dust Collector,
By Kevin michael Cain (Anaheim, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: JET 708639 DC-1100A 1-1/2-Horsepower 1,100 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 115/230-Volt 1-Phase (Tools & Home Improvement)
I didn't know what I was missing until received the JET 1100A 1-1/2HP Dust Collector. I've been using the a wet/dry vac hooked to my planer and table saw. If done that you know about the noise. The JET 1100A has 2 intake ports and and has plenty of power. The machine took about 15 minutes to put together. When it was assembled I turned it on, there was only a quiet hum. The only thing I needed to buy was the hoses. I would recommend the JET 1100A to anyone want to buy a dust collector

This baby sucks !!!,
By David Wismer (Stafford, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: JET 708639 DC-1100A 1-1/2-Horsepower 1,100 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 115/230-Volt 1-Phase (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have had this dust collector for about a year now, and it probably has 600 to 800 hours of operation on it. I have it connected to 6 stationary power tools, and with a little bit of common sense as to installing and using blast gates, it has exceeded my expectations. With the TEFC motor, operating on 120 VAC, it works well, and I have had no problems drawing in sufficent air to to carry away even the troublesome debris generated from thickness planing. Even after several hours of running, the motor is hardly warm to the touch, and we all know that heat is what kills motors. I had initially planned to rewire it to 220, but it runs fine on 120, so I have not bothered. My only gripe is the 30 micron bags. If you keep the 30 micron bags, get a seperate air filter, or buy the 10 micron bags. I make a lot of jigs, and use MDF almost exclusively, and I have read that MDF dust is really bad for your lungs, and the 30 micron bags won't collect enough of the dust to keep my wife from worrying. I solved that with the Jet air filter for all the 30 micron and below material. The 1100 dust collector, in conjunction with the Jet airfilter keep my basement shop amazingly dust free.

A Great Dust Collection System,

A don't know why I waited so long to put a dust collection system into my garage shop, but I am glad I did, and the Jet DC1100 is a perfect system for me. I can't beleive how quiet it is when running, and the suction power that it generates. It pulls some of my smaller scroll saw pieces 6 inches off the work bench. The setup was easy, took about 1 hour. Directions and diagrams were very helpful. I'm not one to usually read the directions, thus the diagrams were really the most helpful. It was put into use almost immediately with my drum sander and router. Didn't take too long for the bag to fill up, and it really wasn't too bad to remove. However, I have since purchased a W1049 Dust Collection Separator, which separators the larger dust particles into a garbage can, which in turn, is very easy to empty. I find myself leaving the machine on, because it is so quiet. I have a setup with blast gates at each machine, so it is just a matter of opening and closing each blast gate as I work on various operations and projects. I really wanted a powerful machine, but did not want to special wire my garage with a 230 volt system. This DC works just fine on the 115 volt system. I have it plugged into a 20 amp circuit, with the overhead lights, and have not had one blown fuse. Of all the research I did, the Delta, Jet, Ridgid and PSI, they all had about the same features and the same price, I'm glad I purchased the Jet system
