This company should be ashamed of this product.

The very next day I weighed in 4 pounds heavier and then throughout the week it gave me readings that were literally 10 pounds off.

I purchased a Taylor Body Fat Scale Last year and it has been an excellent product - see my other reviews - and when we decided to get a scale for our second bathroom, I was very interested when I viewed this product and saw this CAL MAX feature on the scale.

I did buy the scale and I have to say this is a pretty neat idea ! I am not only receiving my weight - which has been consistent and accurate, it also provides the number of calories I should consume to keep me at my current weight. Due to the fact that the Holiday LBS hit me right above the belt - I have decided to watch calories and try to keep my calories under what the scale is indicating in an effort to lose weight. It has been working ! I have reduced my weight slightly, and realize I need to further reduce my calorie intake and increase my exercise to improve the weight loss I have experienced.

It really is a neat product and has been working very well for me over the last month. I will update this if I have any issues - but for now - if you are looking for a tool to help your weight loss or weight maintenance efforts, this is a scale I would recommend.

I gave up on this product after ten minutes. Followed all of the setup instructions to the letter and tried weighing myself to no avail. It would struggle to calculate for about ten seconds and then display nothing. I know I'm not even close to the 440lb. upper limit. My ~150lb. wife tried it and weighed in at 167. I put a 25lb. dumbbell on it and that came up as 33. So it appears to read weight up to 30% on the high side. Just utterly terrible, even for an inexpensive scale.

I'm in the same boat as the multitude of people who purchased this scale from Target and Amazon. It simply doesn't work for larger people.

I know I weigh 400lbs, which is why I bought a scale that could do up to 440lbs. This scale simply doesn't work properly past the 300lbs range.

I tested my 3 year old son 6 times in a row (spaced apart about 30 seconds per weighing) and his weight was the same each time.

My fiance tested herself on the scale 6 times in a row (spaced apart 30 seconds per weighing) and her weight was the same each time.

I tried probably 25 times to get my weight, but only got a read-out once, and that was 341lbs. I had to balance myself to the bathroom sink in order to do this, so I knew it wouldn't be accurate.
When I stepped on the scale and stood still, it would blink 0000 across the screen - as it should - for a few seconds and just go blank. This is a VERY common problem for this scale that I did not know about.

Needless to say, this is going back to Target. I'm VERY disappointed because I really liked the idea of this scale.

I'm very sorry that I purchased this scale. Even more sorry that I threw away the box! I should have kept it a few days. Last couple of days I was so excited that my weight was 144.something. I was very good with my calories and I worked out. Today I got on the scale and it read 148.something. I stepped off and waited for it to reset, then I stepped on again and it read 143. I tried it a few more times and it kept giving me the 143 weight, but I don't know which is accurate. Not only that, but I'm shocked to see that it says the amount of calories needed to stay the same weight (BMR) is in the 1900's! For my husband, it's in the 3,000's! I tried several online calculators and they all say my BMR is in the 1400's. Don't buy this scale. I wish I would have read reviews before purchasing. I want another scale, but what am I going to do with this one?

Worked OK for 18 moths. Despite the fact that the batteries tested fine, it stopped dead. New batteries tried, no difference. How do the people who run this company justify such a poor product?

Ya right. I'm a personal trainer so I need a good scale that goes well up in weight. I weighed every morning for a month to show my clients how your weight can fluctuate. Well, my weight would be plus or minus up to six pounds in seconds. This scale is a joke. I weigh 221.4 get off the scale, weigh in again and then magically I'm 226.8! I've even used a level to make sure my floor isn't sloping. If you enjoy subpar products this is is for you.

I bought this digital scale on clearance (because it was an open package, and was obviously a returned item). The batteries and instructions were missing. I had batteries like this at home and I thought I could easily find an instruction manual on the web. In my search, I found this Amazon Opinion website and read these opinions. Ooops! Most of these were negative. I then thought that I had just wasted my money. I should have read these opinions BEFORE I bought the scale. However, I'm now stuck with the scale and I continued to search for directions.

Yes, it's true, that the [...] website doesn't have the manual for this particular model, but it DOES have the manual for the improved "Biggest Loser" Cal-Max scale. I read that and found that that my scale looks different, but operates nearly the same. The only difference I noted was that the new scale looked more luxurious and it had 10 memories instead of just 4. So, I read the directions entirely, and initialized my scale as it described, and it works perfectly for me every time. I'm very pleased with my purchase!

I weigh 154.4 lbs. and about 90% of the time, it displays this same weight within a small fraction of a lb. However, once in a while, it will stray a little from this.

From experimentation, I have found that you should give the scale a chance to calibrate itself properly. First place just a little weight on the scale to turn it on and then let it display 0.0 LBS. THEN stand on the center of the scale with your weight distributed as close to the center of your feet as you can, and then remain still. It works for me perfectly every time.
