4.0 out of 5 stars Whirling, Colorful, Whimsical Fun Meets Learning Activity
Wow! Three-D baby fun and entertainment! My little one went NUTS when he experienced this mobile and he never seems to tire of it. He gasps, squeels with delight, coos, gurgles, and reaches for the little animals (and actually started grasping them, so we had to move it up a notch). I can grab about 30 mins to myself with this item and it's a treat for baby.

3.0 out of 5 stars Totally Engaged My Child, but Had Its Flaws
This mobile bought us lots of time to do stuff while our baby kicked and hooted at the characters, or simply watched them go 'round and 'round. The music sounded great, and it would have easily earned a 5-Star rating from me if not for two things: the moving parts in the blue ball section squeaked a lot, and the motor went kaput after about four months of normal...

Wow! Three-D baby fun and entertainment! My little one went NUTS when he experienced this mobile and he never seems to tire of it. He gasps, squeels with delight, coos, gurgles, and reaches for the little animals (and actually started grasping them, so we had to move it up a notch). I looked at lots of mobiles before deciding on this one because someone actually spent time researching and developing a mobile that enhances baby development. The mobile is big, fantastically colorful, has beads that slide around while it rotates, and the wacky animals are comical. It really does help develop hand-eye cordination and I like the fact that you have three choices of music, all classical, unlike most other mobiles that all have the same music box lullaby piece.

I would highly recommend this mobile to anyone. It's a blast for baby!

Here are the negatives:
1. You can't turn it on without the music, it's either all or none. Therefore baby's not likely to fall asleep under it since it's is SO stimulating!
2. You have only two settings for loudness. It would be better to have a volume dial.
3. It's REALLY big, but baby loves it!
4. It's hard to attach to a nonstandard crib. I have a convertible crib and can only attach it to the front lift rail so it gets in the way.
5. The sliding beads will keep baby awake, too. This is not a mobile designed to lull baby to sleep, but for stimulating the senses. Keep that in mind for what function you want a mobile to serve.
6. It goes for only 15 minutes, then you have to stop what you're doing and go reset the darn thing. Wish it was voice-activated.
7. It's a bit much for a newborn when it's moving. They seem to examine it more when it's still.

It might sound like I'm down on this mobile but I truly love it and I can't imagine any baby not going bonkers over it.

5.0 out of 5 stars you'll end up exchanging your "matching" mobiles 4 this 1, October 31, 2001
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
We have had a mobile with lambs (that matched our nursery well), but it only kept our newborn girl entertained for short periods of time, and the music sounded circusy and pingy and shut off too quickly. We exchanged it, put in the remainder and got this~for only a little more it's so worth it! It is AMAZING! It looks psychodelic to an adult~it must be awesome to a baby! Stuff moves everywhere~not just the typical round and round in circles~ stuff spins, slides, etc. And the music sounds great~classical symphonies~ and it plays continuously. She LOVED it from day 1 beyond our expectations. She layed there and squeeled and "talked" and cooed and kicked and batted her arms at it for over a half an hour! It is so worth the money. Go exchange, return, whatever.. your other mobiles. This one beats them all by a mile. I'm telling you~if you buy a "matching" one like we did, you'll end up with this one instead eventually.

4.0 out of 5 stars Baby Loves It-That's all that matters!, March 23, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
Hi-my husband and I bought this mobile directly from tinylove.com 8 months ago, before babiesrus even carried it...our daughter, now 7 months old, really enjoyed it..it was so stimulating to her that she fell asleep with it on alot..we never had a problem with it using alot of batteries...we had to remove the mobile from her crib just last week because she is now pulling herself up in her crib and was holding on to the animals!! hehehe...But we attached the music box to a baby rocker in her room so she can still enjoy the music...we got 7 months of wonderful use out of it!

Positives-
Very Stimulating-bright colors, cute characters that seem as if they are smiling right at your baby
Nice angle for baby to really enjoy the movement
Plays three classical selections back to back - gives you a chance to things around the house or have some time for yourself
Once baby outgrows mobile, you have a portable music box that you can take anywhere-even away from home

Negatives
Can't use motion of mobile without the music
Only two volume options-loud, not so loud
On/Off button sticks-thankfully I have a very mechanically inclined hubby who fixed it
Sliding beads can seem loud, but the important thing is it never seemed to bother our daughter

I would have given the mobile a 5 star rating had the on/off button not broken on it..the only recommendation I could make to tinylove, is to make another mobile with a volume option

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous mobile!, January 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
My son loves this mobile and so do I! Just push a button and the beautiful melodies play for 15 minutes. No winding, no noise, longer playing time. We've had this mobile since my son was born, and at 5 months he still hasn't tired of it. The colorful characters and motion of the rings still keep his attention. Sometimes the music will lull him to sleep, other times the animals will entertain him while I clean the house or take a quick shower. The on/off button broke and Tiny Love replaced the music box for free (no need to return the broken unit)! I can't believe I spent a small fortune for a North American Bear mobile for my first child when you get so much more for your money with this mobile. Definitely buy this for your baby!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars New Parents pls read this review AFTER reading the bad ones, March 14, 2002
By
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
I am a first time mom, and I love this mobile. I have read some of the bad reviews and it's seems like some new parents gave it a bad review before they even used it on their baby. Yes, when you first put it together it SEEMS like it hangs too low, but when you finally put your baby underneath it, you will find that it is just perfect...no where near close enough to hit your baby. Some parents complained that it was too stimulating...um, that's what mobiles are for...stimulation...to help your baby's mind grow and develop. If you would rather buy your baby a mobile that is unstimulating and does nothing for your baby's development, buy something else. Personally, my husband and I will only buy her toys that are good for her development, because we want her to be a happy, healthy baby. My baby loves it. She finds it very interesting and when she gets tired of it...she just falls asleep. I research everything we buy for my daughter, and we chose this mobile because it's simply the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars This mobile ROCKS!, April 22, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
My son has been enjoying this mobile since he was 6 weeks old. We had originally received a cute teddy bear mobile that matched the sports decor in his room...but that quickly was returned when the baby was bored by it.

This mobile does so much to stimulate our baby. The motion is great...it swirls and spins at just the right speed. The music is nice and soothing to the baby...two different levels of volume, 3 different songs and it plays for a long time too. The colors are wonderful and very attractive to our baby...he gets a real kick out of the animals.

Our baby's first giggle and wriggle started under this mobile! After a diaper change, he loves to sit and talk to the mobile and watch it...which gives mom a good 15 minutes to wash her hands, use the bathroom and maybe have a glass of water! Well worth its weight in gold!!!

My only problem was with the attachment of the mobile to the hook arm. It took a couple of trys, but I finally got it to stay together and lock.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!!, September 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
After reading all the great things that moms had to say about this mobile on some other websites, I tossed my current mobile and got this one for my 8 wk old. Definitely glad I did that - my daughter LOVES it - the music is very clear and soothing - automatically shuts off after 15 minutes, so no wind-ups required. Lots to look at too (I have to admit I even like to look at it!!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps my little one occupied, August 17, 2002
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
This mobile may not match with your nursery, admittedly it's gaudy looking, however my baby girl is captivated by it. The bright colors, black and white swirls, and movement of the animals are enough to keep her entertained for the 15 minute playing time. This buys me time to grab a shower, grab a snack, take a load of laundry out, etc... It's been a sanity saver in our household.

I have yet to change the batteries, and I've been using it every day for 30 minutes (2 rounds of playing time) for the past 2 months.

I also like that the top half is easily detachable. I remove the top half at bed-time, so as not to over-stimulate baby when she is trying to fall asleep.

The quality of the music sound is average. It's nice that it's got the "real" piano sound, and yes, it can sound "tinny" as commented by previous reviews, but I still haven't found a nursery mobile out there with dolby/THX quality sound, I mean, it's a MOBILE for goodness sakes! Try not to hang out in the nursery when the mobile is playing (not always practical, I know), otherwise, those three songs will run in your head ALL day ALL night, it can be annoying, but for the love of the baby, I guess it's just another thing we parents put up with!!

I'm a little disappointed that this can only be used until baby can pull herself up in the crib. I understand it's a safety issue with the possibility that she could grab it and pull it down on herself and dangerously become entangled.

Overall, it's a worthwhile toy, it's nice to know that there are things other than you that can keep the baby happy and entertained, even if only for 15 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the greatest toy ever created !! Highly Recommended!, November 23, 2002
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
This has got to be the greatest baby toy in the world!!!!
My son Jake is one month old and loves this mobile. Once we put him under it, he becomes alert and starts cooing, smiling and swinging his arms. He must love the different colored animals because he follows them all the way around.
One of the greatest features of this mobile is that it plays for 15 minutes!!!! Put the baby under it, turn on the baby monitor, then walk away and take care of stuff around the house. He is completly occupied until the music stops.
The music is great! Choice of three classical selections or just let it run through them all for 15 minutes!
Yes, it is true that this mobile does NOT put your baby to sleep!
But, who cares. Its wonderful to watch him interact with it. There are many other ways to get your baby to sleep besides a mobile.
If you want your baby to sleep, look into buying the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium. It works wonders!!

This is an A+ product and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to everyone!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Is there anything higher than 5 stars?, March 15, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Symphony-In-Motion Mobile (Toy)
Our 4 mo. old daughter has been taken with this mobile since she first saw it at a few days old. She coos & wriggles as she looks at her "pals", and never seems to get tired of watching them, even when the mobile is off. We have two minor issues: 1) the buttons don't always work right, and need a bit of muscle to get going sometimes, and 2) it would be nice to have the option of the mobile spinning w/o the music playing (she sleeps right through it, but I have to say after 4 mos. I wouldn't mind not hearing it for a while!). We haven't had to change batteries too often, and we use this a LOT. The clicking of the falling pieces doesn't bother us or her, and the motor noise is negligible. I would recommend this mobile to anyone - it's definitely one of our favorite baby items, and it'll be a sad day when it has to come down!!
