This shocked me Serious like, September 18, 1999

This review is from: 74 Jailbreak (Audio CD)
I have loved AC/DC ever since problably about 79' I believe and I finally bought 74' Jailbreak this week. This cd was released in 84' and includes "jailbreak" which was recorded in 76' but for some reason was never included in any release other than this one. "You ain't got a hold on me" is also included and it was recorded in 74'. The title song Jailbreak is really a piece of work. I would have been a stellar song on any of AC/DC's albums during the 70's heyday. This cd blew me away the first time I listend to it. I have heard Jailbreak once or twice over the years but I didn't know what I was missing. It really brings out Bon's style in the same way that Can I sit next to you girl, Dirty eyes, Rock and roll singer, and whole lotta rosie do. If you are a fan who just stresses over the fact that Bon died and that other guy took over then you are in luck. Maybe it is new to you too and your in for a real treat. Nothing meant bad torward Brian but there was no one on this earth who could replace the Nasty little Bonfire. By the way why did angus and malcolm put Back In Black in Bonfire box set and not this cd????????????????????????????????????Thank you Thank you people I am glad you liked the show -- yes -- yes goodnite and God Bless--(Bon 75')Rip

Good, But Somewhat Incomplete, June 3, 2000
This review is from: 74 Jailbreak (Audio CD)
This is a good album, but I can't see giving it 5 stars. I mean, the title track is possibly the best song they ever did with Bon at the helm, but that's really the only great song on here. None of the rest are bad by any means, but they're not classic either. The cover of Baby Please Don't God is quite good though, as is Soul Stripper. I guess I like this album more than I think I do. However, it is short, and they should've added more songs to it during the remastering process. Despite this album and Volts from Bonfire there are still a handful of AC/DC tracks that have yet to be released in America. This shouldn't be! All in all, this is a worthy album though, because of the title track, and because it's generally cheaper than their other cds.

Great old AC/CD, November 23, 1999
This review is from: 74 Jailbreak (Audio CD)
This short, bluesy collection shows a very creative band with a flamin' guitar man and a clever, rowdy vocalist. The title track is still one of my all time rock favorites: Simple, direct and gets you in the gut. Bon Scott's wasteful demise really prevented this band from reaching its true potential. Enjoy all 5 tunes on this CD with a beer and play some air guitar.
