Other books of the sort are great for instructional designers and trainers, but I believe this book is more teacher-focused. And savvy, creative teachers at that. There are a few things I really love about this book: I love the matrices at the beginning that help you evaluate the activities and whether they are a good fit for your situation. I don't think they belong exactly, but the tips at the beginning of the book are extremely worthwhile. Each chapter begins with a meaningful introduction. There are a few things I would have done differently- mainly organization as I don't think it doesn't follow a logical sequence. However, I would still recommend it as a resource, just not a read-through. I also think readers will need some level of creativity to implement some of these activities- perhaps further directions to state HOW an individual would implement each activity into an LMS is needed. |
