"750 Ways to Annoy People" is bam, bam, bam, one crazy thing after another, from beginning to end. This book is easy-to-read and very, very funny. I highly recommend "750 Ways to Annoy People." If this book doesn't make you laugh, you need to see a shrink!

I don't even know why I ordered this. Perhaps because of some good reviews. But I just don't get it. Not funny. Not useful. Just a waste of money. Let me save you some money by giving you a way to annoy people: Pick you nose in public. All the book is not this tastless but just as useless.

750 Ways To Annoy People,
By Gerry Lynn (Bent over double in the parlor.) - See all my reviews

Pick a page - Pick any story - it will bring to memory some very funny things that have happened in your life. I love # 80 about the home improvement phone calls - you'll love it to. Go ahead - pick an number - pick any page, YOU will love Shaffers approach to "Survival Of The Annoyed". Read # 159 on page 35 and use the "Unknown Syndrome" to fill out those pesky credit card offers.... Same with any phone solicitation - go along with everything and then give your address as "Unknown" What ever you do, don't mow your lawn - shave it. Instructions on page 45. Have fun, Shaffer really knows his humor. GREAT.

This book tries to be amusing. It ranges from the absurd "eating oatmeal with your hands" to the illegally outrageous suggestion to report a single neighbor for wife-beating. Very UN-amusing.
There are better ways to spend your time. This book could have been condensed into one of those annoying emails that always manage to be forwarded to you. You know the kind of email that you skim and immediately delete? Well, that's what this book is like. Sorry. Not recommended.

Pick it up and you'll start laughing!,
By Harold Jorgensen (the Twin Cities, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 750 Ways to Annoy People (Paperback)
While visiting the home of a business acquaintance in suburban Philly, I saw "750 Ways to Annoy People" sitting on a coffee table in his den. So, I picked it up, started flipping through the pages, and smiles and unexpected bursts of laughter instantly ensued. My friend said the book has the same effect on everyone, and that's why he's had it sitting in the same spot for over two years. Then I remembered that a year or so ago I'd heard a wild radio interview with the author while driving from the airport into Anchorage, Alaska (of all places). I remember he was banging things and ranting about bad table manners, ways to annoy people at work and everything else. Anyway, the point I want to make is that this is an really funny book. It's easy-to-read, it will keep a smile on your face, and it gets your mind spinning in a slightly warped but positive direction right away. It makes you think of all of the idiots, malcontents, pretentious bores, neurotics, social morons, and anarchists out there - including (dare I say?) some of my own annoying friends and relatives. Nothing is off-limits but, to my surprise, it gets the job done without any profanity, which seemed to add to the book's weirdness. Yes, I do like this little gem, and I highly recommend it. It's one of those timeless attention-getters and laugh-givers that's going to stay right on my coffee table, too, for a long, long time.

Totally Warped - But True!,

This review is from: 750 Ways to Annoy People (Paperback)
How can a sane man come up with so many warped/annoying experiences? I met this Shaffer guy, and agree with the other reader who says they need him in Russia - (or Washington) He's funny, the book is funny - but brings ton's of memories to mind... all very annoying. Russia and Washington need him desperately. How about it Shaffer? How about replacing Clinton? Your next book can be *10,000 WAYS TO ANNOY PEOPLE.
