Product Description

Used on vari-drive MTD made LT's. This is the secondary belt or the belt going from the transmission to the variable drive pulley. Used on 600 series variable speed units. Made to FSP specs, 5/8 X 44.2". Kevlar® corded lawn and garden belts have become increasingly popular over the last few years due to their extreme strength, durability, and value-added pricing. Kevlar® corded belts, also called Aramid or extra-heavy duty belts are constructed of organic polyaramide fibers that are manufactured using complex chemical processes. **Interesting fact: Kevlar® is the same material bulletproof vests are constructed with. Kevlar® is used in PIX belts as a tension member because of its inherent stability and high tensile strength Cord

These cost 1/2 to 1/3 of the price that original manufacturer wants for the belt. These fit well and I will let you know if the last as well as the originals.

Fit was as expected this time and when used previously on other machines like tillers and snowblowers. Every time I install any belt it seems a little tight but will set into the pullies after a hr or so of use. This belt on my riding mower was no different than other more expensive brands bought locally. Very pleased with the fact it has been on for a complete season and still works fine. Usually with me a belt will tear up because I hit something or try cutting 16 inch grass. I opened up an aria behind my storage building last summer that was like this and the belt held up fine. I have learned though to go easy with this type of grass. Will buy Pix belts again.

I used this belt a couple of times. On both occasions I noticed some stretching or seating in the pulleys that made it longer. Originally they seemed slightly short though so it worked fine. I have used Gates and Napa belts many times and never noticed this but they were also different applications. I have and will buy PIX brand belts again because they are affordable and seem to last well.
