Very Close to Reveal Incandescents,
This review is from: GE 75406 13-Watt CFL Spiral Reveal Light Bulb, 60-Watt Equivalent (Tools & Home Improvement)
These reveal cfl bulbs are pretty close to the reveal incandescents. I put one of these reveal cfl's in the same fixture as a reveal incandescent and could only tell a small difference between the two. The cfl was a little more yellow than the incandescent. I do not know what other reviewers are talking about when they say these reveal cfl's are not even close to reveal incandescents. All and all, a negligible difference.

I've been waiting for a CFL bulb that has the right color temperature and cast. When I saw the Reveal brand for CFL, I looked at Home Despot, but they only had Philips "natural white". So, when the 13 watt Reveals showed up on Amazon, I ordered a 2-pack. I have two reveal incandescents in my family room and I love the color. I did a comparison with the Reveal CFL in one lamp, and the Reveal 3-way set to 50 watts. They look nearly identical - in fact, the CFL has a bit more of the reddish color that I like. It is also slightly brighter than the 50 watt. I'm extremely happy. You can't tell there is a CFL under the lamp shade.

This review is from: GE 75406 13-Watt CFL Spiral Reveal Light Bulb, 60-Watt Equivalent (Tools & Home Improvement)
I was excited to find these new CFL bulbs by GE. I was disappointed to find that despite the premium price, these bulbs don't look much different than standard a "soft white" CFL (±3000k). They have a more yellow cast than Reveal incandescent bulbs. The Reveal CFL bulbs may come closer to matching traditional (non-Reveal) incandescent bulbs. Like most florescent bulbs, they still suffer from a lower CRI than a traditional bulbs. This makes some colors dull (blue and red), while exaggerating others (green and yellow). If you must use CFL's and you want ones that come close to Reveal incandescent bulb, try these BlueMax Sunset 14w CFL. The Bluemax Sunset bulbs are not perfect and still have minor color issues but they are what the Reveal CFL's should have been.
