Purchased product to work with my 8000lb winch. It is a plug and play remote and works great. Makes loading and unloading cars much easier.

Install was about 10-15 minutes! Works great.. I haven't tested the range yet on the remote but seems to be farther than the wired remote. Easy and convenient. I think i will put my remote on a lanyard.

A must-have add-on for your Warn winch...,

1) It's plug and play.2) It makes solo winching a lot easier. 3) It lets you get farther away than a wired remote. 4) It lets pick safer locations than a wired remote, which places you right near the fairlead usually. Together items 3 & 4, above, constitute a HUGE safety improvement and are, in my opinion, reason enough to get this add-on for your Warn winch. While the wireless remote claims to function 50 feet from the receiver, I had the entirety of my wire cable (minus 5 wraps on the drum) spooled out and was successfully using the remote from the hook end of the line. (That's nearly 100 feet of range!) Also, if you're worried about batteries dying on you, don't. The remote has to be activated by you before it burns energy ... and it automatically shuts off after a fairly brief (but reasonable) period of disuse. (Plus you can always carry your wired remote as a backup; that's what I do just for good measure.)

This was trivially easy to install, which was great. The build quality is great, and the batteries last seemingly forever. However, there are couple things I wish were better. For one, you can't kick on the compressor on a WARN Air Compressor and Winch, which would be nice to keep the wired remote from lying in the mud and muck, forgotten, et cetera. Also, "bumping" the winch in and out goes a little too far for my liking; about twice as much line goes in/out vs bumping with the wired remote. It is very nice to be able to stay out of the way for long/dangerous pulls which the wired remote doesn't always allow.
