5.0 out of 5 stars The most passionate-authentic blues alive, December 20, 2001
This review is from: 7936 South Rhodes (Audio CD)
If you want the REAL deal, then this is it. Be transported to a barrelhouse atmosphere as Peter Green hooks up again with Eddie Boyd, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie to give the deepest feeling to what true blues is all about. The solos are sensitive and full of so much feeling they make you ache. If you are tired of hearing posers and rockers trying to play the blues, then you will not be disappointed in this little known classic. There is not one single ho-hum on it. Just REAL-CLASSIC-HEARTFELT-GENUINE BLUES as it should be - and -here- played. Enjoy and get a lesson.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure, April 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 7936 South Rhodes (Audio CD)
I have had a taped copy of this album since 1971, and to me, I still can't get enough of it. As a Peter Green, and original Fleetwood Mac fan, this is a must-have for your collection. I don't know much about Eddie Boyd prior to this album, but Eddie and the Mac do it up right, on this one.

eddie boyd and peter green have put out an album of blues that i feel is a lost treasure. listening to this cd will give many people an opportunity to listen to one of the greatest blues guitar players who ever lived. i feel blues lovers should buy any album that peter green played on before 1971.

5.0 out of 5 stars None Better, October 24, 2011
This review is from: 7936 South Rhodes (Audio CD)
This is undoubtedly one of the finest Blues recordings ever. Eddie plays and sings his heart out. He was one of the great song writers of the era when Freddy King, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Albert King and Little Walter still ruled the roost. Eddie was one of Chicago's great Blues pianists and was a fine vocalist as well. Its difficult to find most of Eddie's recordings--however, this one is a gem. Pity its out of print. This is the one to own--Blues fans won't be sorry.

Supported by Fleetwood Mac's: Peter Green, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood when they were the best Blues men in England, your treated to an album that will never grow old. Peter plays some of his most inspired solos with the sweetest tone and is perhaps his best work. McVie and Fleetwood provide a wonderful Blues bottom. This is a must have recording for serious Blues fans!
