If I could give this 'set' a negative star it would be more appropriate. The material is not even close to Velvet... the second I opened up the package and felt the fabric, I immediately knew I was scammed. The only thing this would be good for is a Hollywood set, now I'm left to deal with this until I can find a real set worth having. Even the pillows are uncomfortable to touch. What good is a pillow you don't even want to lay on? An absolute waste of money. Will NOT purchase from this vendor again.

I ordered this comforter set after reading several negative reviews from people who seemed to think they were going to get premium quality silk velvet for half the price of a comforter set you'd get at a discount store. Not so, ladies and gents. It's an inexpensive set and you will, at least to a degree, always get what you pay for. I knew that going in.

When it arrived, we inspected it to see if it looked too cheap and decided it was worth keeping. The pillows were a little wonky, the hang of the comforter itself seemed a little short, but not bad looking all in all. For the price, it was more than adequate. The fabric has a bit of give and is a little thin. The padding is so-so. But, it was very soft, felt nice to lay in and didn't look like I spent so little. I was pleased. It held up fine on the bed even with me brushing it to remove cat hair. For about a month.

Then, I decided it was time to wash it. This, apparently, was a bad idea. I didn't stuff it into a washing machine that was too small, nor fail to use adequate settings. I put it on delicate and cold, knowing full well that other people had some trouble washing this set. I took it out and realized that the wash had damaged it so badly I'd have to sew it before I put it into the dryer lest the batting come out. So, I did. All wet and soggy, I sewed up the two-foot hole that tore along the bottom hem. Then, I put it on the coldest, gentlest cycle in the dryer as well. When it came out, more holes. I sewed them, too. I put the comforter back on the bed and after about a week, my repaired parts are fine, but more holes in the same area are popping up. I figure it might survive one more wash before the entire thing is made out of my thread instead of the original velvet. Oh well.

I would say that this bedding set is "velvet-like", but not really velvet. Or at least a very low grade of velvet. I ordered it for my daughter's bed and she seems to be satisfied. But if I had ordered it for myself, I would have returned it. Looks and feels cheap.

I was skeptical ordering a comforter online because I couldn't actually feel the materials. Well, I got lucky here and picked the right Comforter Set! Extremely soft velvety outside and a very comfortable satin liner. It seems to trap heat too, which is perfect for this time of the year. I highly recommend this beautifully designed comforter set.

It arrived pretty quickly. Unfortunately, when it did arrive, the throw pillows were extremely deformed, and no matter how much I fluffed them, they never got their shape back.
Not to mention they were over stuffed, and ripped at the seems ten minutes after I started to fluff them.


The "velvet" is actually some cheap, low grade velvet as mentioned.
The first time we washed the set (the night we got it) the velvet washed off exposing the netting.
Cheap, cheap, cheap.

A few months later and it looks completely old and worn now.

The cotton didn't last long before clumping up like an old pillow. The lining of the shams did the same thing.
Don't get this if you have pets, because pet hair CAKES to it and does not want to come off.

It does seem to trap heat though, as another user mentioned.

So if you don't care about appearance or durability, go for it.

The comforter was not the one in the picture. it also had a 6 inch tear on the inner seam. it will be the only time i will buy something from this manufacturer.

I am absolutely disappointed because I ordered this over two weeks ago and still it hasn't shown up and to make matters worse -- they took my money and this item isn't even listed in my orders! What do I do about THAT???

- the braid on the pillow is very uncomfortable to sleep on
- it FRAYS like crazy! just extremely poorly made. really thin material.

I purchase this comforter set for my seventeen year old son, when the comforter arrived the pillows was ruin. The material that the comforter was made out of was very cheap. I have seen better at the family dollar. I would not recomend anyone spending their hard earn money on this comforter.

Very nice product - soft, warm and attractive. Would have preferred the set come with sheets & pillow cases rather than so many accent pillows - pillows would be great for a king size bed but for a queen - not so much - but other than that very satisfied.
