5.0 out of 5 stars Woah! Can this be -the- Joey McIntyre?
Woah! I'm totally amazed by this CD. I own Stay the Same. I like it. I listen to it occasionally, but mostly as a nostalgic trip back to my pre-teen years, when I idolized the NKOTB. I happened to hear some good things about 8:09 - so I went to B&N, listened there, and was really, really surprised. This is a stand-alone, breakthrough CD. If there were any doubts...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not his best work ever
I really don't have this CD, but from what I've heard from hearing the clips online, it's not the best he's ever done!!! I had the other three CD's and out of Stay the same, Meet Joe Mac, and One Two Many, my favorite was One Two Many. I thought for a beginning solo artist stay the same wasn't the best album ever though it had two big hits. Meet Joe Mac was a flop! One...

4.0 out of 5 stars Mr McIntyre Keeps Getting Better, July 12, 2004
By
This review is from: 8:09 (Audio CD)
This album by Joe shows how much he has matured and progressed as a solo artist since his first album. In my mind Joe has gone from strength to strength, to be honest, bar 2 songs I didn't like his first album Stay the Same, and its only by accident I heard his second album Meet Joe Mac. However on the strength of Meet Joe Mac and One to Many I purchased 8:09 and was blown away. I absoululy love the dance track Dance Like That, I can imagine the sexy video clip as I sing along. The second dance track This Is Different is also fantastic, (is it just me or are there many refrences to Brittany Spears in this song). I loved California (maybe because I was in California when I brought this album)and its the first song I learnt word for word, I drove around California belting out this song whilst drumming away on the steering wheel. These three dance tracks are the stand out tracks.
Although its over-shadowed by the dance tracks LA Blue stands by itself, not a dance song, not a ballad, but a fantastic mixed tempo song.
Of the ballads I loved Endlessly whilst Supergirl, Love Me That Way and Someday are enjoyable and easy to listen to.
The only song I had to learn to enjoy was Falling, this was because I loved this song on the live album with Eman, and you know how people feel when they mess with songs you already know.
8:09 is a complete package of dance, funk, and ballads which will only add class to your CD collection.
I love this album and have no hesition in recommending this album to my friends. If you have never brought a Joe Mac CD buy 8:09, it is Joe's best album by far and the only review I have ever been inspired to write.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD, Joey has hit a home run!, May 20, 2004

This is Joey's 4th solo effort and let me say, it is his best yet! "Dance Like That" is the first track, Mr McIntyre comes out swingin' with the party track, very relaxed, yet, upbeat and cool. He finds his lady in a crowd, but notices only her and wonders how she is so sexy, yet reserved, but wants to "learn or thing or two" about her, what better way, than in a dance!
"Love Me That Way" is a smooth track, stating the way that a man should be loved by his woman or rather how he likes to be loved. He wants to love her, but is reluctant because he wants to make sure she can love him the way he needs to be loved, in order to recipricate. He will wait forver, if he has too, but she must love him unconditionally, as he does her.

"This Is Different" is a "hidden love song" with its upbeat lyrics, clearly, you can tell that his love has grown for the better. He likes the way she moves, carries herself, perhaps. He acknowledges that she isnt like other women, but special and perhaps, has the qualities that a man looks for in a woman.

"Supergirl" tells of a woman who is very strong willed and her admirer has a lot of respect for her and the trials and tribulation she goes through to accomplish her goal, all the while becoming a great person and an even great woman. In essece, her admirer learns from her everyday and is extemely grateful.

"LA Blue" is about a man who loves a woman, but must leave her in order to take care of his business. He regrets no spending enough time with her, but he has to leave and in doing so, starts to regret his decision, but never forgets about his love, that he left in
L.A.

"I'll Never Get Over You" is a song that states how McIntyre feels about his lady love and acknowledges doing foolish things and apologizes for them, at the same time, not faulting her, but telling her that he would never "heal" if she left him. I guess in his way, he feels that there is something there, even though they have know each other a short time. He knows that she may have fallen too quickly as most of us have done, caught in the ambiance, he accepts that, but wants to spend time with her, to get to know her. Perhaps even saying that she is 'the woman behind the man', so to speak.

"California" is a true "chill out " song. Joey always says that there is a party in California and there is always a reason for a party, so bring your friends! Even if you have no plans, you will find something to do in California

"Someday" is a song about falling for a girl, but not rushing into a relation, rather, waiting and giving fate time to let the chips fall where they may and for her to see what a good man a person (namely McIntyre) can and will be.

"Falling" is simply a reasoning song. There are feelings, whether good or bad that result in a learning experience that attributes to the falling in love with that special someone, even though there are differences between 2 people, there can still be love there. The last track is aptly titled

"Endlessly" Joe Mac professes his love for his "significant other". There is nothing he wont do for her and looks to God for guidance that his relationship will always work out, because of his devotion and true love for her. He will continue to put her needs before his, ALWAYS.

If you were ever an NKOTB fan or just a Joe Mac fan, you will find something that relates to you in this CD, no matter what gender or relationship status you may have.

5.0 out of 5 stars 8:09 is Joe's best CD yet!, May 6, 2004

As a longtime fan of Joe I am so proud of this new CD. It is by far his best effort yet. Don't get me wrong, Stay the Same and Meet Joe Mac were really good but this CD just shows Joe's continuing growth as a musician. His voice shines throughout the entire CD. Its exceptional in "Love Me That Way". His songs are full of emotion and all of what I know Joe is capable of doing. I recommend this CD to anyone who wants to feel good, laugh a little and just enjoy some great music. California is hilarious and the little facts about CA are a great touch. Endlessly is such a moving song. The entire CD is awesome and I just want to congratulate Joe on a superb effort and I hope you keep on continuing to grace us with your music. Joe is a true talent and growing better everyday. I give it two HUGE thumbs ip and everyone should go get 8:09, you won't be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars This album is wonderful!, April 30, 2004
This review is from: 8:09 (Audio CD)
This album is not bad. I've been a fan of Joe's for quite some time and I do think that his songwriting abilities are showcased on this album. The one disappointment I have is that there are only eight original songs on this album. There are ten tracks total, but 2 were also recorded on his Live album. LA Blue is an amazing song, as well as Someday and Endlessly. I also agree that Dance Like that and This is Different would do very well on the radio. His vocals are very good on this album, and there is an edgier electric guitar quality to this album. It's definitely good for the pop fan from yesteryear or the adult contemporary listener. I would recommend this album as one to own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Younger Joe Fan, April 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: 8:09 (Audio CD)
I've loved all of Joey's last 3 cd's. Each one is different and unique in each way. This one is no exception. Some stand out tracks for me are This is Different, LA Blue,California Falling, Endlessly, and Someday. This is Different makes many refrences to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. It reflects Joe's great sense of humor. LA Blue, is the first single, and I think its just beautiful to listen to. Anyone can relate to this song. California is another one of Joe's humerous songs. Its fun to listen to. I love the random California facts thrown in to the song. Falling is taking from Eman's album with a new Joe twist. I loved the song when Eman did it, but I also love Joe's version. Endlessly is just beautiful to listen to and a great end to the cd. I could listen to this on repeat. My absolute favorite song is Someday. Its sounds beautiful and I love how both Eman and Joe sing on it. Overall Joe's sound is maturing, and I love listening to his voice. I highly recommend this cd to all the bravehearts. I also recommend this to those who are curious to see what Joe's been up to these last 10 years after the NKOTB split because you will be in for a great surprise on how wonderful Joe's new music is truly becoming.

5.0 out of 5 stars 8:09 -- Awesome Effort...Well Done, Joseph!, April 28, 2004

This review is from: 8:09 (Audio CD)
Joe McIntyre has added 10 more great songs to his growing repertoire! As is his three previous albums, 8:09 is composed of the most moving lyrical pieces. "LA Blue," the first single, tells a story of change and a new love...the inspiration for many of the songs on the album. "Someday" will make you want to call out and beg to be Joe's girl. Once again his great friend and collaborater, Eman Kiriakou, joins him on this track adding that special twist that only these two men together can achieve. "California" and "This Is Different" have funky beats reminiscent of "We Can Get Down" (from his first solo album "Stay the Same") that will get you up and moving. Many more great tracks on the album that will make it hard for you to ever remove the CD from your player! Get ready for heavy rotation of this CD. You might want to buy two copies!
Two Thumbs Up for Joe McIntyre and his new album, "8:09!" It was well worth the wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars 8:09 Flips My Flops and Rocks My Socks!, March 1, 2005
This review is from: 8:09 (Audio CD)
After seeing Joey McIntyre as Fiyero in the Broadway musical "Wicked," I was swept away by his talent! I bought 8:09 expecting it to be like every CD I have bought; Some good songs and some bad songs. This CD was completely different! I love each and every one of the songs! My favorites have to be "Someday" and "Endlessly." Both are beautifully written and performed by Joey with help from Eman. I would recommend this CD to everybody because it will completely blow you away. Joey has all of the talent thats missing from some performers today.
