#2 envelopes are very thin,

This review is from: 100 #2 8.5x12 KRAFT BUBBLE MAILERS PADDED ENVELOPES #2 (Office Product)
I bought these #2 envelopes & they are very very thin. I have bought better ones that are a little more expensive & they are much thicker & better quality. When I am mailing my books to customers it is very important to make sure the envelope is not so thin the corner of the book punctures a hole, because the book can be damaged. Depending on what you need the envelopes for you might not want to get these if you are using heavy items or items with corners like books.

A good, sturdy enveloped, but the adhesive tear off strip sticks, making it difficult to use. I end up taping the envelope...not what I bargained for.

Bubble Mailers a little thin!,
This review is from: 100 #2 8.5x12 KRAFT BUBBLE MAILERS PADDED ENVELOPES #2 (Office Product)
I've ordered these before and each time service is fast and without problems. HOwever, this time the bubble mailers seemed a little "thin" and don't seem to offer as much protection as in the past. I might have to shop around for a "heftier" product.

These sturdy mailing envelopes by Kraft have an excellent internal lining of bubble wrap to make whatever you're mailing get to its destination safely! I sometimes mail CDs or DVDs to friends and I wouldn't be do it without these excellent envelopes with their bubble wrap lining.
In addition, the bubble wrap inside the envelope simultaneously serves as padding; and the envelopes are padded somewhat more as well to make the insides safe for CD cases and the like. This is far superior to the regular envelope with really offers little or no protection against the contents being broken should the envelope be accidentally dropped or just banged around in transit. I love it! The sealing to each envelope is easy--just pull off the strip on the envelope's edge and press down hard. If you have any remaining concerns about the envelope staying shut in transit just use some tape to reinforce the seal of the envelope. Moreover, these envelopes come cheap. They currently cost just under 20 cents an envelope--who could ask for anything more in this department! One suggestion: write the name and address of the recipient on the envelope before you insert the contents and seal it. That way you're protected even more against the envelope accidentally becoming less padded by the force of any ink pen you use to write with. Overall, envelopes like these count for a lot. I am always mailing something and they sure do come in handy! I have also received tons of packages over the years from sellers of CDs and DVDs who used these envelopes to reliably transport the media to me. I highly recommend these envelopes. Great job, Kraft!

worthless - much lower quality than in the past,

I used to buy these mailers from valuemailers for my business. They used to send me the high quality bubble-lite 2 kraft mailers, which are stiff and protect the items inside. This time they sent me eco-lite mailers, which are thin, bend easily and are worthless for my business, I just had to throw them out they were that bad. They are the same kind of quality mailers you get from staples - not very good. If you are going to send eco-lite mailers, advertise them as so. It's too bad because valuemailers used to be a great supplier.
They try to make it seem as if you'll save money by using the "lighter" bubble envelopes. With USPS postal rates now, the difference in weight of the bubble envelopes from the lower quality ones to the higher quality ones won't affect the cost in postage in my experience, it's a only fraction of an ounce difference. It's just not worth it if you really want to protect your items. I tried Uline and they sent low quality bendable mailers too. I expected much more from them considering their higher prices. I'm taking my business to Bubblefast, my brother uses them for his business and they still send the high quality kraft bubble-lite envelopes that are very stiff, they don't bend at all. I called them up and they told me they have a great supplier and won't get them from anywhere else.

I'm a self-published author and these envelopes have been perfect for mailing out my book orders. They are sturdy with a good seal and the price is right.

I sell books and movies on Amazon. In the past I've used Kraft bubble mailers and Scott bubble mailers with no complaint. They are strong and adequate. I ordered these "#2 Kraft bubble mailers" thinking they would be the same as from other sellers I've used. Unfortunately, these are much thinner, lighter weight and fragile. They ahve no markings to indicate they are indeed by Kraft. Almost every one I've used has actually torn at the flap and/or at the corners during packaging. This is not due to trying to cram a tight fitting item into the envelope. The paper is simply inferior and, also, the bubbles appear to be minutely smaller. I have to re-enforce the flaps and corners now and pray that the items reach destination safely. Needless to say, I'll not buy these cheaper envelopes again.

I have been selling books for three years now - and due to competition - it's always good to try to cut costs where you can on shipping costs - I have a 99% approval rating on the books I ship out - due in large part to the condition they are in when people receive their book, which has been protected due to these bubble mailers. I used to buy bubble mailers from Staples and Walmart, but these mailers are much cheaper - especially when you buy them in bulk. My only complaint with these mailers is that sometimes I have to tape the envelops shut because the adhesive doesn't always hold up. Outside of that - I'm very satisfied with this product - especially saving and making more money on my sales as a result.

I needed some padded envelopes large enough for a 200-page book measuring 6"x9". These worked perfectly. Other people have said that they're flimsy. I don't think so. They're not thick by any means, and they probably won't stop a bullet, but they're sturdy enough to be mailed without concern.

Generic Bubble Mailers?,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 100 #2 8.5x12 KRAFT BUBBLE MAILERS PADDED ENVELOPES #2 (Office Product)
I didn't realize bubble mailers could be generic, but I was wrong. I came to these guys because of the price, and I was surprised how fast I received my items. That was the good part.
The bad part is they are the thinnest bubble mailers I have ever seen. I think someone went and poked out all the bubbles. The peel off sticker is a low grade too. I send out about 100 pieces a month so I'm praying that nothing gets damaged this coming month because of the mailers. If you have anything fragile, it's a good idea to stay away from these and purchase the Actual Kraft Bubble Mailers. I'm still not sure how they claim these are Kraft Bubble Mailers. The stock picture shown is actually a different item altogether. |
