3.0 out of 5 stars Cute and Fun Shirt December 27, 2011
First off, this shirt is a great and cute idea. All in all it's a fun shirt, and definitely a conversation piece.

The hearts do not light up as brightly as they do in the pictures. Obviously this shirt is not ideal for outdoor wear. I think in a pitch black room, it'd be great. In a regularly lit room, you can still see the hearts.

Sizing. I read the other two reviews and freaked out about sizing, and rightly so. I accidentally ordered my brother an XL. Turned out to be a happy accident. The shirts are not correct to the measurements. By brother wears a size M from American Apparel, but this XL shirt fits him fine. Go figure. I bought his wife a M Womens which turns out to fit fine. She normally wears a L from American Apparel's womens cuts.

So the blanks they use to make these shirts are poor quality. The measurements do not match the sizing as indicated and the thread count is lacking.

3.0 out of 5 stars Watch out for Sizing February 12, 2011
By pesz
Alright let me just tell you I think this is one of the cutest ideas ever and I have no problem with the actual function of the light up strip my only complaint is the sizing of the shirts. First it seems as they were not pre-washed and shrunk. My boyfriend wears a small in everything and I checked the sizing chart to make sure that seemed like the right fit. Got the shirts took them out and compared the size to the other shirts in the closet and it looked perfect even a touch bigger, until I washed it . . . Now it is about an inch shorter than any of his other shirts and the shoulder seams are off quite a bit too. He hasn't tried it on yet, so it may yet sill fit, but be aware the shirt will shrink!!
Where my real complaint is the girls shirt. Again by their measurements I should be a small, the small is really wide on me, but what is worse than it being wide it is SUPER short! I can't even lift my arms in the air with out my whole tummy being exposed. What it ends up being is a short baggy box yuck! I am in the process of finding other shirts to attach the lights to.
As for the actual light strip, it works great! Totally love it super fun and I can't wait to give it to my boyfriend for our anniversary.

2.0 out of 5 stars Looks cool but.... March 19, 2012
I got these shirts, one for my boyfriend and one for myself. As others have said the hearts don't light up as much as the videos and pictures on Thinkgeek suggest... and also when I ordered the shirt (I got a men's small for myself) and it was tinier than a size L shirt I bought in the Disney store in the children's section. Also, make sure that the little striped strip that connects the Heart strip to the cord does not get kinked, it won't even work right after it gets bent in the least. I defiantly would not recommend this product, but if you already have it and if your a bit sewing savy (even the littlest bit)remove the heart strip from the shirt and put it on something like a sweatshirt that can easily hide the power cord.

Product Description

Staying healthy is the key to keeping yourself alive. Video game characters know this all too well. When your red heart gauge reaches zero... you die. For non-bitmap humans like you this is more of a challenge. But luckily after extensive study at ThinkGeek labs we've determined that people feel best when they are in close proximity to something that they adore. Don't understand? Well luckily for you we've created this amazing 8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt to illustrate.

Buy one of these glowing shirts for yourself, and gift one to your significant other (boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, fembot 2000...). During your normal activities two and a half pixelated hearts will light up on your shirt. Hey... you're depressed and in need of a recharge. But get within hugging distance of your significant other wearing the matching shirt and suddenly the hearts on both of your shirts start to light up until you're fully powered up. Go too far astray from the source of your affections and you'll drop back down to two and a half hearts again. Got it?

Runs for hours off three AAA Batteries (not included)
