One of country music's most important artists, Jim Reeves recorded a wealth of old fashioned country music.
Reeves died in a plane crash July 31, 1964, but releases of his 'vault' music have garnered 34
posthumously charted songs ~ 18 of which were top ten hits.
His velvet voice has landed 80 songs on the country chart between 1953 to 1984.

Here are 8 of Jim Reeves first 10 albums between 1956 to the end of 1960.
Skipping his debut album, (Jim Reeves Sings - 1956) and his 9th album (The Intimate ~ Jim Reeves - 1960)
Surely 'Real Gone Jazz' label will be producing more Volumes of Reeves music as this box set is strictly
8 exact albums, it doesn't pick up any singles that weren't on these albums like they've done on other sets
Noticeably missing here are major hits, such as "Four Walls" (#1 in 57) - "Losing Your Love" (#2 in 61) etc.

The Albums Here Are ~
1. Sings Down The Lane ~~~ 1956
2. Bimbo ~~~ 1956
3. Jim Reeves ~~~ 1957
4. Girls I Have Known ~~~ 1958
5. God Be With You ~~~ 1958
6. Songs To Warm Your Heart ~~~ 1959
7. He'll Have To Go ~~~ 1960
8. According To My Heart ~~~ 1960

Track Listing ~ and identifying the charted songs numbers 1 to 33 and 3 B-sides.
(only 13 B-sides during this period, many where 2 sided hits)
(15 of the charted songs during the time period this set covers aren't here,
there-fore numbers 3-7-8-9-11-13-14-15-16-19-20-27-28-29-31 won't be shown)

Disc One ~
~~~ Sings Down The Lane ~~~ 1956
1. Roly Poly
2. Have I Told You Lately That I Love You
3. Breeze (Blow My Baby Back To Me)
4. Waltzing On Top Of The World
5. Oklahoma Hills
6. Love Me A Little Bit More
7. Tweedle O'twill
Only Jim Reeves voice can calm you down and sooth your nerves listening to him sing. I don't care what the song is, he does it the best. When you see his name for music, just purchase the album. They are getting harder to find specific albums. He's loved inLondon almost as much as the Beatles were! He'd traveled all over the world and everywhere he went he got thousands of new fans. Get your calming albums today and throw away your pills. You won't need them!
Great collection for the most important reason that these are 8 original albums, not rehashed compilations of the artiste which confuses the buyer. Even the original recording companies are in the habit of releasing previously released album titles of with totally different track listings from the original releases. .. they take you for a mighty ride. The Realgone record label however retains the integrity of the original track listings as per the original albums. Great collection. Hope they bring out more such albums of Jim Reeves
For many years, fans of Jim Reeves had limited options when it came to buying a box set containing his complete albums. Although there were many single disc and double disc collections, the only option for owning a comprehensive box set was the massive 16-CD box set entitled "Welcome To My World," which was released by Bear Family Records. Although I highly recommend that set, it's easy to understand why many fans of Jim Reeves might not be able to afford a box set in that price range. Thankfully, the Real Gone Jazz label has rectified such issues, releasing this stunning 4-disc box set, containing eight of Jim's early albums on RCA, spanning the years 1956-1960.
The audio is consistently good and the mastering is suitable for a box set within this price range. Some critics prefer the mastering on Bear Family's set to all other releases, but the audio on this collection is of a great quality. As a continuation to this set, Real Gone Jazz released a second volume including Jim's next six albums. Sadly, that collection is plagued by inferior audio and is not up to par with this collection.
The music is great. All of the CD's sound great when they are played. If you use a CD player you won't notice the one flaw. I am using a computer and when you play CD 3 you will find that the playlist is for Oscar Peterson's Jazz album rather than for Jim Reeves 3rd CD. The infomation on the back of the cassette is correct for the songs on the 3rd CD. Jim Reeves was my mother's favorite singer and I feel like I am sharing a moment with her when I listern to the 4 CD set. She would have really loved it.
