I was a little girl when that wonderful lady died, but I still remember growing up listening to her deep warm voice.
I'm happy that I was able to finally purchase this rare CD on Amazon. The CD is loaded with great pieces that Dalida sang in French over the 1970-1997 period, including "fini, la comedie" that has been performed by many people since then. This album is truly, a master piece.

Multi-platinum...,
This review is from: Volume 8 (Audio CD)
This critically acclaimed album is perhaps the best record in Dalida's unique career. We find a mature Dalida with a voice is silkier than ever. The material is dramatic at times, "Partir ou Mourir" & "A Ma Maniere", "Comment L'oublier" is the French version of "Helwa Ya Baladi". One of the best songs on the album are "Il Pleut Sur Bruxelles" & "Une Femme a 40ans". Her own interpretation of B. Streisand's "L'amour et Moi" (The Love Inside) is touching. Also, the album has special treats: the singles released around that time that were not availabe for some time, "Americana" Quand Je n'aime plus..." Strictly Recommended. |
