5.0 out of 5 stars Eminem did good again
This is a great soundtrack. The sounds are ultimately good. Also, there is no cursing so more kids can buy this.It has great songs like "lose Yourself" and "run, rabbit, run".It is all good.

3.0 out of 5 stars A place in your collection, but not in history
Eminem has some unique poetic tricks in his writing that are even more surprising than the words and topics he employs. But this mix includes artists who are good but much more comforting (such Macy Gray, still underrated as a vocalist) and others are much less comforting and much less talented (such as 50 cent, vastly overrated as artist of any kind).

I think this is the best soundtrack ever. I like to bob my head when I listen to the songs. I also think they should cut the cursing. So I don't have to do so much ... to find the edited version. But the 8 mile cd is great.

It's true! Eminem's movie is out and what better way to celerbrate than listen to the soundtrack. He's got the best rappers on one cd!.I'll advise you to see the movie. His lyrics aren't as personal in this. And yes D-12 is in it as well.

In toto, this "soundtrack" (itself a misnomer, since it includes many trakcs simply "inspired by" the movie, rather than from it) includes a fabulous first track, and then fifteen tracks that mire in mediocrcity. They're fine as background for cubicle work, but don't mark any unique or interesting turn in cultural history.

Yeah, we've had enough of Shady. But are cameo collections all that will follow?

5.0 out of 5 stars 8 Mile Soundtrack, September 27, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 8 Mile (Clean) (Audio CD)
Over all, this is a really good CD.

1. Lose Yourself- 11/10 Best song, period. See my review of the single.
2. Love Me- 6/10 Not bad, but the chorus is kind of annoying.
3. 8 Mile- 8/10 Really good, but it doesn't get you heart pumping like Lose Yourself and isn't as raw as Rabbit Run.
4. Adrenaline Rush- 3/10 A real disappointment. I can't get over the chorus of this song, even though it's edited.
5. Places to Go- 7/10 I'm not a big 50 fan, but this was pretty good.
6. Rap Game- 7/10 Good song, but half of it is missing- edited out.
7. 8 Miles and Runnin'- 4/10 I'm a huge Jay-Z fan, but his track was a real let down.
8. Spit Shine- 7/10 I like it, but Xzibit is a required taste.
9. Time of My life- ?/10 Where did Macy Gray come from? I'm not sure how this made it onto the album.
10. U Wanna be Me- 5/10 NAS isn't really talking about anything except how "bad" Jay-Z is.
11. Wanksta- 7/10 50 is definately good on this album, and this is the better of his two songs.
12. Wasting my Time- ?/10 Another mystery track. Can anybody explain this?
13. R.A.K.I.M.- 6.5/10 Rakim is a legend, but the chorus on this track is reeeeeeally annoying.
14. That's my ***** fo' Real- 6/10 Pretty good.
15. Battle- 7/10 Excellent, but... What is it with the choruses on this album?
16. Rabbit Run- 8/10 Fantastic, it really gets your heart going, and the final line is cool. The only problem is that it isn't up to Eminem's usual rhyming ability.

Buy this Cd for the good songs- 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11, 15, and 16- and don't avoid it for the poorer ones. It really is worth it.

This cd rocks! The best song is lose yourself by eminem because it is a song that inspires you that you can do anything that you put your mind to. The other songs are also good. This cd got hot artist like eminem,50 cent,jay-z,nas,d-12,xzibit and more.
The only songs that were not good was time of my life by macy gray, adrenaline rush by obie trice and wasting my time by boomkat but the other songs made up for it.So get the cd!

I have the clean version of the cd but get the explict content one it is much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slim Shady, July 17, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 8 Mile (Clean) (Audio CD)
The CD is great but there is only three songs that Eminem sings. They are Lose Yourself,8 Mile, and Run Rabbit Run. The CD is still good and Eminem I think had the best chance at those songs than any other rapper would have. I also think that Eminem got the lyrics down excellent. Eminem probably did write the songs by himself and if he did write them, he wrote them very well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor choice, October 30, 2003
This review is from: 8 Mile (Clean) (Audio CD)
If you need to purchase this cd or anyother after they have been edited, you should not make the purchase. Just because some foul vocab words have been removed, the overall theme is the same. I have the unedited version of eight mile and very much enjoy it. The cd is not intended for an immature audience wether edited or not. Buying an edited cd is a futile effort and if you dislike the words, don't listen to the song.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better with superman, but still good!, January 12, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 8 Mile (Clean) (Audio CD)
Here is my review. I would have gaven this album 5 stars if it had superman. They should have put superman on this album cause the superman video is on the dvd. I dont care cause I have the Eminem show which has superman. And I have the 8 mile sound track. I also have Encore, and curtain call the hits so it dosent mater to me, I have seen all of eminems music videos except superman. Somebody needs to tell what that videos like. So just to let you know, for the people that dont know and think its on the 8 mile soundtrack its not. It is on The eminem show. Well thats my review.
