I bought this set of bells to use in my music therapy sessions several years ago, and continue to use them with almost every group that I work with--from small children to adults.

The set comes with a small booklet to start you off on some songs, and I found them to be tuned well.

They're durable too! Many a client has banged, thrown, or done worse to the bells, and I have not had to replace any. They're easy to clean, since it is all plastic/metal (no paper or delicate material).

Great product, I recommend others to use this as well!

These bright-colored bells are right in tune, and the little tune book has easy to play music for beginners. They are color-coded, and have both numbers and keys on the tops to guide you in your playing.

The bells are 3" wide, 5 1/2" tall. I initially posted this review in 2007. It's now January 2011, and the bells are still in excellent shape, ring true, and have held up incredibly well!

Great item!

I've had the desk bells for years. Kids love using them. I have wanted the hand bells and finally purchased them. The bells allow you to use them by #'s, letters of the notes, or by color. I will take a poster board and put the words of the song with the color of the bell above the word that the note cooresponds too. I have used them with children ages 3 to 11. They catch on almost immediately. The colors are fun and billiant. It is great for teaching harmony, too.

These bells can be enjoyed by both children and adults. We have used them with songs which span only one octave or less, but they could be used for chords of any song in C major. Children should be cautioned not to pull at the clapper; otherwise the bells are very durable.

This is a terrific product! I bought all 20 bells and brought them to work and everyone in the office got hooked on playing them! We even performed at the office holiday party and we were a big hit. Only one of us had a background in music (and it wasn't me) but it didn't matter. It's very intuitive and easy to use. I also put the bells out as a decoration over the holidays and whenever people came to visit they were drawn to them. It's money well spent! Not only are they tuned well, they are extremely durable.

Found it to be fine for a beginner. It really should have included a color chart to go along with the notes, for the young beginner. I had to magnify the existing few songs that came with it. That would make it more user friendly for the age group it is intended for! Thanks

The only thing that would make this better would be to have more elementary school aged music provided, color coded of course!

I bought these handbells to use with a group of older adults with dementia. They had a great time playing along with some simple Christmas songs. We used the numbers on the bells instead of the colors and everyone could follow along. Great fun! The only negative is that we had to sound out the songs ahead of time to make our number chart but it was fairly easy.

These are the best gift I could have purchased for my four year old son. He picked up "twinkle little star" right away since he learned it on the xylophone already. Soon after he was playing ode to joy from what I could teach him from the song booklet. For all the reviews that complain about the "stickers falling off" my stickers are just fine and I have a 4 year old, a 3 year old and a 2 year old. PLUS the numbers of the bells are engraved on the bell (hard to find but it is near the base of the handle on the actual bell). If you put the numbers in order it runs "c to c" PLUS the notes are in the order of the rainbow...so the stickers are really just to get you started. Well designed toy that teaches music. We play a fun game where we close our eyes while the other guesses the note we are ringing. Enjoy the bells!

This bell set will be used for our church children's choir. I'm sure the kids will enjoy learning how to play them!
