Product Description

Designer Ce Ce Chin decided to create a comfortable yet fashionable shoe line and voila, 80%20 was born. Remixing her greatest hits and introducing new shoe styles, 80%20 inspires you to break some records of your own. Rock a classic boot with the signature hidden wedge in a traditional knee high. Add the latest spin with a slouchy western or riding boot. Step it up in a poppy patent leather bootie or mary jane. In the boys club of mammoth footwear brands, Ce Ce Chin's story reads like David vs. Goliath. Of course you can't go wrong with a great idea; the concept behind 80%20 came from her observation that we tend to wear the favorite 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time - and these shoes are definitely part of the 20% you can't live without.

My friends call these shoes "high-heel training wheels", because they're wedges, and it's true. If you're not great with heels, but want a pair - try wedges. These are a little high or steep for me personally. I think they're a 3" heel, I do better around 2.5 or 2.75. There's not much padding or arch support, but there's plenty of room to slip in an insole. The color is great and they go with pants and dresses alike. They were a great buy, and I haven't had any problem with the quality.

Aesthetic: These pumps are true to the color and sheen in their pictures. They look just like you expect them to.

Durability: No scuffs or tears in the patent yet, and I wear my shoes out. However, the sole began to pull apart at the heel (I do that "lean back onto the heel" thing that does this to a lot of my shoes) and was easily remedied with some Gorilla Glue. (This has only happened to one heel.) The upper and inside of the shoe have held together very, very well.

Comfort: The toe box felt vertically short - the tops of my toe nails rubbed against the upper portion of the shoe - but I did not get blisters or rubbed-raw skin from this. The shoe stretched just enough to accomodate after one wearing; you can't tell it stretched by looking at it, but it feels better. The heel, though, does rub at the back of the ankle on my "smaller" foot, and I have worn a bandaid to accomodate.

Sizing: I usually wear a 6.5 or 7, and purchased a 7 in this shoe. It was the right choice.

I really wanted to like this shoe in person. I guess in the simplest of terms, the shoe looked and felt bulky and perhaps that's because I have narrow feet. I especially didn't like the gapping at the front of the shoe and wished that the overall fit was better. I'm kind of a spaz when its comes to sizing and I actually called the 80%20 store in NYC. They were extremely helpful and even sent me a follow-up email. I wound up purchasing an 8.5 but I think I should have gone up a .5 size as the previous reviewer had suggested. I think its really a nice shoe but better suited for someone without narrow feet.

I was so happy to see that the "Nectar" color was just as vibrant in person as online. My two friends and I bought these shoes while crossing our fingers, because you will be HARD PRESSED to find any semblance of a review anywhere online. No one owns these shoes, apparently (bonus!).

They're extremely comfortable! I don't get any rubbing, tightening, or anything when I wear them - they're a dream!

PLEASE NOTE: You really must order .5-1.0 size LARGER than your normal size. These run small. I usually wear a 9-9.5 (most often the latter) and I snagged the 10 - they fit perfectly.

I can't wait to wear these with dresses, jeans, skirts, shorts... Everything!

[And now you have a review for these crazy shoes.]
