Product Description

From the Manufacturer

In 1899, Oliver Lavisheart, a young adventurous Englishman, accepts to help his uncle Mathew win a bet: going around the world in 80 days or less to collect proof that the wacky uncle has created four major inventions in four different cities all around the world. As the game progresses you will help a strange German Archeologist, rescue a distressed actress from Bollywood, organize a SM contest, win an elephant race, drive the biggest airship ever, find a way to make the Scottish tartan the coolest street wear worldwide, fool a shogun's samurai, burn your own boat to go faster, avoid the traps of inspector Fix's nasty son, get into disguise, bribe, steal...

Product Description

In 80 Days Frogwares has forever altered how graphic adventures will be designed and played by taking full advantage of modern technology by moving the traditional 2D setting of graphic adventures into a much more vibrant 3D world. The immersive qualities of the 3D world of 80 Days is accomplished by allowing players to explore every inch of each location, converse with anyone they choose, and provides them with real-world physics placing them in a world where they will experience day/night cycles and dynamic weather effects. When Oliver Lavisheart's eccentric Uncle makes an eccentric bet it will be up to his down to earth nephew to keep him on course. A once in a life time opportunity to travel the world, even on a life altering bet, is not something to be passed up! As Oliver, to win the bet you must travel the world in 80 Days or less to collect proof that your wacky uncle has created 4 major inventions. The 4 inventions are scattered in 4 of the most exotic locations around the world including the deserts of Egypt, the jungles and mountains of India, the ancient domains of Japan, and through the mostly untamed lands of America's west. Fail to get the proof of your uncle's inventions from these locations and his reputation and both of your finances will be ruined! On this trip you will gain not just knowledge about the world, you will gain even more knowledge about your uncle's fantastic talents, adventurous life, and closely guarded secrets. You may also learn a lot about yourself, the truth about your family, and the true nature of this incredible bet.

5.0 out of 5 stars 80 Days to a travel adventure..., January 24, 2006
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I really enjoyed this game. It had many places to visit and many things to do when you got there. There were several ways to travel on your journey. He traveled by cruise ship, train and helium balloon. There were also several modes of transportation when he was on land. You could drive a sports car, elephant, flying carpet or wheel vehicle. This made it very interesting. I did download the patch which makes it run smoother. He changed into different funny costumes also. At times I really laughed. Some of the puzzles were quite challeging but fun. At first it was hard to run the key board with the mouse. I learned to click twice on the up arrow to make him stay in running mode and then I could steer him with the mouse. It would have been nice if they had let you save more times. At one point, it was a very long time with challenging puzzles in between before I reached a save point so I had to go over and over but finally got it. The game has its own save points. I am used to making my own. All in all it was quite enjoyable and fun and well worth buying.

I really enjoyed playing this game despite the few bugs here and there ~ the graphics are superb and the storyline is very interesting...

I played as a tourist as I did not want to be timed...

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!, July 9, 2006
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is nothing short of amazing! The graphics are incredible and the navigation within the game is a real hoot! (riding the camel, etc.) I'm not a great fan of keyboard navigation, I prefer a mouse or game pad, but I'll get used to it. The game is worth it. I did have a bit of a problem with the autorun feature when I installed it, but I got around it. This game makes great use of my new computer system (XPS Next Gen 5, duel core 464 Gig hard drive with 2 Gig memory) I doubt my old system would have handled the intense graphics.
