4.0 out of 5 stars bolts?
To string it... all i can say is your going to be sweaty after this one...
Frankly, the bolts suck, the plastic fletching breaks off when you shoot the bow, sending the bolt spinning off to lost-land, save yourself the trouble and break them off yourself, then use duct-tape to make new fletching on the remaining metal, works fine, also, the string frays, so cover the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment
Cons:
Getting the string on is a choir, so you will need a stringer
I recommend a Crossbow Stringer
Excalibur® Crossbow Stringer
The front sturrup falls off when you give pressure to load an arrow (not good)
The string is very hard to pull back and load. (wife could not do it)
I recommend getting a rope pulling device.

Otherwise... great product, great price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Starter, December 26, 2011
This review is from: 80 Pound Pistol Crossbow (Misc.)
this is my first crossbow, and i used to take archery and if played around with a few 50 and 70 pound hunting bows and iv really wanted to try a crossbow and i got this one for christmas. the instructions are very simple but if your buying this for your kid he may need help getting the string on cause even i had trouble with that. it comes with the alan wrench you will need to assemble part of the crossbow, it comes with a metal bar at the front of it which makes putting the high tension string back much easier, and you just point and shoot. luckily like any gun it does has a safety but always use caution. the arrows it came with are very sharp and there made of metal so they stay sharp even after a few uses, it comes with 5 arrows to get you started but you can purchase more, this does seem a little more upscale then your average walmart cheapos and i havent been to robbie's in a while so the only place i think to get one is on amazon. over all its a lot of fun, cheap, durable and is a great starter crossbow
