Not your best choice for a Wi-Fi detector but a nice flashlight, October 7, 2010
This review is from: 802.11b/g Pocket-Size WiFi Locator Keychain w/LED Flashlight - Find a Wireless Signal Anytime and Anywhere! (Electronics)
This is not a good "out-of-the-box" detector. It will work and the price with shipping is going to be reasonable at around [..] to [...]. It's just NOT ready to go when you take it out of the packaging. The problem is the battery compartment and electrical contacts for one of the batteries. One of the batteries will most likely be dead when you get it since one set of the electrical contacts appears to be installed upside down which shorts out one of the batteries and prevents the device from working also. This is especially upsetting since there is a tiny "inspected by ." sticker on the back battery compartment. With a fresh battery in hand the unit can be made operational by bending the small clip with a pair of tweezers or possibly your finger nail and then inserting the new battery. Its a little tricky getting the battery not to pop out before you get the battery cover back on, but it can be done. Depending on the type of battery you buy, this may add another [...] to your cost. It's a fairly simple repair but you need to know how button batteries work so the device will work. Bottom line is, you shouldn't have to repair a new item to get it to work. If you do the repair correctly, the device works pretty good and has a small flashlight that comes on if you hold the button down. Due to the low cost, most people won't return the product. But, be ready to perform the repair procedure or have someone who is available for you when you open it. The unit uses two CR2032 Button batteries, so you might want to have one available. No, I would not recomend this item to anyone who isn't anxious to repair it. Also, figure the cost might be around [...] total when you are done and check out the other devices that are simular on the site for around [...] with shipping.

A Real Stinker, September 21, 2010
This review is from: 802.11b/g Pocket-Size WiFi Locator Keychain w/LED Flashlight - Find a Wireless Signal Anytime and Anywhere! (Electronics)
This stinker is a wifi detector. It is also a flash light. It is a piece of junk. Assembled improperly, it burns out one of the two batteries it uses within a day. This is, obviously, a manufacturing defect. After paying, with shipping, around $13 for this piece of crap, and trying different batteries three times, and adjusting the batter clips to make sure that they were not crossing the problem persisted. I wound up throwing this piece of s__t away.

A Big Joke..., February 9, 2011
This review is from: 802.11b/g Pocket-Size WiFi Locator Keychain w/LED Flashlight - Find a Wireless Signal Anytime and Anywhere! (Electronics)
Got it. unwrapped it. Turned it on... it Broke. After installing the batteries (included), the device's lights flashed for about 2 minutes. Didn't detected my WiFi signal even though I was in a WiFi area. After 2 minutes the device simply stopped working. Flash light never light up. The whole thing is a ugly piece of cheap plastic. I got it for free for buying more items at AMAZON. You don't waste your money.
