I bought this because my netbook's atheros was not pulling in very much.
I used xirrus and could only see about 2 to 3 users in my neighborhood. I bought this and then went to install it. NOTE: You do not just plug this in and let windows add a device driver. You MUST run the installation prorgam from the CD that comes with it. After running the install off of the CD, all was great. The installation CD gives you an app that shows access points in your local vicinity. Tells their type of connection (802.11b, or 802.11g or 802.11n) Shows if their access point is open, or which type security is being used. WEP,WPA, etc. After installing this device, I reran xirrus. Awesome! Instead of like 3 or 4 AP's in my area from my built in atheros wireless, I now found like 10-12. Xirrus' radar screen view was now lit up with all sorts of dots, each indicating an access point. To test range, I set in my vehicle, about 3 blocks away from Village inn. I had no problem connecting to their AP and surfing. My built-in atheros saw that there was a Village inn connection, but the signal was too low to even try to connect. So far, it's the best usb add on wireless NIC I have found/used.

My review of the Alfa AWUS036NH 802.11n WIRELESS-N USB Wi-Fi adapter 2 watt.
I needed an adapter/antenna that could pull in wifi signals in my apartment complex. My internal Atheros chipset was mediocre at best. I bought a NetGear usb card that said it was really powerful only to find that it was worse than my Atheros chip set. The Alfa AWUS036NH 802.11n WIRELESS-N USB Wi-Fi adapter 2 watt promised an dramatic increase to pulling wifi signals to my computer. For the most part it has done what it promised. I couldn't get a signal into my apartment at all before I bought the card. Now I am getting some gain. The card itself boosted my gain 2 to 10 points depending on where you use it. I also made a signal dish out of aluminum foil, a plastic collander and a old CD to reflect and to hold the suction cup attachment. That really helps the USB card to pull signal. Don't think that when you buy this card that it will be a miracle cure but it will help. For under $50 it is a significant stop gap. J

Trust me, I have done my research on Wi-Fi Network Adapters, and I am glad I settled on this one. It does the job and does it well!
This product can turn a 2 bar connection into 5 bars EASY! Makes passing time at work so much easier when your connection is full and you can load all the youtube videos you want. =P No regrets!
