2. DAVID LEE ROTH: California Girls [Remix] 3:09
3. HOWARD JONES: New Song [New Version] 5:23
4. CHAKA KHAN: I Feel For You [Remix] 7:17
5. SHEILA E: The Glamorous Life [Club Edit] 6:34
6. ALPHAVILLE: Dance With Me [Empire Remix] 8:14
7. YES: Owner of a Lonely Heart [Red & Blue Mix] 7:50
8. FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD: Relax [New York Remix] 7:24
9. FOREIGNER: I Want To Know What Love Is [Extended] 6:21
10. STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE: Since Yesterday [Extended] 6:29

Another excellent compilation of 80s remixes, all the way from Japan! I sure seem to be paying a lot for these Japanese import CDs these days -- but alas, that's the only way to get a lot of the good stuff at the moment.

Mysteriously, the version I purchased is titled "8012, Good Oldfashioned 12-Inch Single Collection," in case that makes a difference. But the songs appear to be identical with the sole exception of Alphaville, which is spelled "Alphavill" on the CD case I now hold.

Truth be told, I have seen several of these mixes on MUCH cheaper compilations (A-ha, Chaka Khan, Sheila E, Frankie Goes To Hollywood) but finding the David Lee Roth and Howard Jones remixes on CD made this purchase more than worthwhile for me. The Foreigner song is too similar to the album version for my taste; conversely, the Yes remix leans WAAAY more toward Trevor Horn's sample-heavy Art Of Noise style than anything he did for Yes's 90125 album in '83. Absolutely classic -- but don't expect to sing along with those severely chopped up vocals!!!

Overall, I'm definitely glad I own this little gem. It would've easily earned five stars, had they found it in their hearts to throw on an extra track or two. Ah well.
