We have a wood burning fireplace insert and bought these gloves a year ago. They have been just great! They are long enough to protect the forearms from the sides of a hot stove and they are heat resistant enough to allow us to move logs in a active stove or add logs ton a hot fire. After a year, they are showing no signs of needing replacement. Highly recommended.

These gloves are the best I've ever had. they insulate for cleaning and scraping the hot grill yet they are light-weight and non-restricting.

They are 15inches long which long enough to cover your entire forarms, Used them on my weber grill, was able to stoke the coals from up close with a poker without feeling any heat on my hands and forarms. just don't expect to shuffle a deck of cards while wearing them...but to manipulate items on your grill is no problem.

If you have a fireplace, you should really have a good pair of fireplace gloves. If you use them carefully, you barely need to have any other fireplace tools. There are others on the market, of course, but I find these particular gloves to be excellent performers and an excellent value for their price.

I rated this product before, but I think it was offer by 3rd party seller, I just found out that amazon started to carry this product, I guess good word does spread fast. Well. It is very nice leather quality at the price you are going to pay. I paid for $25 for this a year ago, now it even cheaper. which makes me a little.... you know, you don't want to pay for anything more that you shouldn't. people seems to think this is an heat proof gloves because it said BBQ and fireplace on it. Fire WILL burn anything close to it. This gloves gives you a good amount of time to put back before anything gets too hot. I think that's farely good enough. unless you want to wear the firefight gloves for like $200 a pair. and you not sure where to buy it from!!

These are excellent gloves for both the grill and fireplace. They are long (15"), so they cover the entire forearm, and they are heavy duty (thick leather). Also, they are gloves, not mitts, and that makes a huge difference. Mittens give you no ability to grip or pick up items; gloves give you all the flexibility of, well, gloves!

Iused these everyday for both grilling duties and stocking fireplace.

The two 1-star reviews here are not based on this product, but rather on the manufacturer and the shipper. I hope those customers followed up, got their products, and then review the actual gloves.

Used them on my weber grill, was able to stoke the coals from up close with a poker without feeling any heat on my hands and forarms. I later picked up to steel grill baskets and delivered them to the table with no issue as well (used silicon to handle them so I would not dirty these gloves). These gloves are comfortable a large forearm as well, just don't expect to shuffle a deck of cards while wearing them.

I am writing to inform folks about these gloves, I've rated them at one star, but only because I have to rate them. I was burned very badly using these gloves with my grill last weekend. The grill was set to bake a pizza at 350o F and I removed the baking stone and it got so hot as I was setting it down to cool, I dropped it on the concrete. I truly believe that the "Best of Heat Resistant BBQ and Fireplace Gloves" are not meant for use anywhere near a fire, barbecue or oven. The manufacturer must realize that someone could hurt themselves very badly using your product and it is my opinion that they re-evaluate how they market these gloves. Please save yourself the time and money unless you'd like a nice set of gardening gloves.

When I got them they looked high quality and very sturdy. I put them on and went to the grill to clean it and give them a test run. While I was doing it I noticed my right index finger was warmer than the rest. I set the cleaner down on the grill and took a closer look at the glove which appeared to be normal. When I picked the cleaner back up I burnt my right index finger? Strange that everything else was fine. After closer inspection the inner lining material isn't in the right index finger an obvious manufacturing defect since it is in the other nine. I'm assuming by reading the other two reviews that my pair is defective. I can't find the company information to send the glove back and have them inspect it. So if you don't want to get burnt both literally and figuratively I would advise looking at another brand.
