happy with my xerox
I must admit when it comes to laser printers, I've always been an HP fan. But when I searched for a new color laser printer, HP came up short like every other laser manufacture. That is until I found the xerox phaser. It's not really a laser printer in the traditional sense as it use wax like substance instead of toner. No toner cartridge, no ink cartridge, just a crayon...

Xerox 8550 low quality
I've owned two 8500/8550 printers. I was initially impressed with the print quality and the ink block technology. But both printers died, the first after 13 months and the second after 15 months. happy with my xerox, October 27, 2007
This review is from: 8550DT Clr Prnt 30PPM 256MB Enet Dupl Two 525-SH Paper Trays (Office Product)
I must admit when it comes to laser printers, I've always been an HP fan. But when I searched for a new color laser printer, HP came up short like every other laser manufacture. That is until I found the xerox phaser. It's not really a laser printer in the traditional sense as it use wax like substance instead of toner. No toner cartridge, no ink cartridge, just a crayon like substance that is insert into the printer. I've been using my 8550 for about two years for my business brochures, flyer's and the like and this printer is fast and the results are excellent. I can't vouch for the cost per page as I don't have the time to keep track of such things. I've replace the maintenance kit twice which is a snap. I could not be happier with this purchase and can't imagine switching back to traditional color laser at this point.

The second time I had learned my lesson: Xerox has a great technology, but they don't know how to make a durable, reliable product. I'm switching back to HP printers; I've got two HP's that are still running after years of service.
