Battery fits adequately (with some pushing). Delivers what it says. My dv6120 lasted for 4.5 h with moderate mixed use (no video editing etc..) on a cable network (wifi was off) with 2 full reboots.
Battery Status* gives a nominal capacity of 134502mWh after first charge and 130700mwh after 2nd charge.
Heavier (~2x) than original battery, can live with this. Ventilation much better due to the extra space.
In conclusion: Much better than new battery. HP laptops should definitely have come with this battery as standard !

I will hopefully update this post for capacity and longevity.

Excellent investment! I'm rarely impressed with technologies but this battery is one of my best investments in years. I frequently work without power for several non-stop hours. This battery has outlasted me on numerous occasions--with as many as five hours of solid support. This, even when browsing the web while simultaneously working in three separate applications.

Received a Dekcell branded battery (with correctly matching ASIN#), not Yuantel brand as the product suggests. No problem with fit in HP DV6000series laptop. Followed instructions to cycle the battery 3x before testing it for actual use. With full power mode, it's good for ab 3.5 hrs (vs 1.5hrs of the HP 6-cell). Other than the unexpected battery brand, it seems to work fine. Just wished the HP laptop had a smart charging feature like cell phones, where it switches to trickle charge after the battery is at 100% charge.

Note1: per instructions, the new battery should be charged with the laptop OFF, then allowed to cool for 30min after it has been discharged before repeating process 3x. Verified that the battery meter gave an incorrect reading when this was not followed.

Note2: Higher capacity batteries WILL take longer to charge. Higher capacity batteries TEND to be bigger. Look at the product pictures carefully. Picture #1 is the side that goes into your laptop. Picture #2 is the bottom with feet. Essentially, it is 2 of the 6-cell batteries stuck together (for a general visual of how it will look).

This battery is a bit bulky, but went into my DV6675 with absolutely no problem. I charged it up and have used it for about 3-4.5 hours while on "balanced" mode with wifi enabled and continued use throughout. Great buy and definately worth the comparably modest price. I escpecially like how the extension of the battery tilts the keyboard for a more ergonomic position to type. I think that is an added bonus although some people may not like it for reasons of esthetic appearance or portability with certain laptop carriers. Good Deal!

For two and a half years that I have owned my HP laptop I have been consistently committing the cardinal sin of laptop power management: I have been leaving the battery in my laptop while keeping it plugged in the power supply, which lead to battery being continuously charged. Needless to say this continuous charging kept decreasing my battery's life when unplugged, until finally a couple of weeks ago my poor battery completely gave up and breathed its last. This finally forced me to look for a substitute. At first I was really worried that I would have to pay a hefty price for a new battery, but after little research online and on Amazon I came across this non-HP branded battery. Since my laptop was already out of warranty, I had no misgivings about getting new non-HP parts, as long as they are of good quality. The previous reviewers' comments were encouraging, so I gave it a try and so far I have been extremely satisfied. The battery worked right out of the box. It seemed to require longer to charge than I had been used to, but on the other hand it has twice the capacity of my old battery. The 12 cell battery will indeed last longer, and so far I had not been even close to using all of the charge up even when I was using my computer for up to four hours. Even when playing DVDs or burning writable media this battery provides you with enough juice to last you for most of your everyday needs. I would just not rely on it too much if I had to take a trans-continental flight. But short of that you will be fine.

The 12-cell battery adds an extra inch or so to the back of your laptop. This may not be a problem, especially if you prefer to type on a slightly raised keyboard. However, if you have a slightly larger laptop (mine is 15") the placement of the battery in the back adds a small but noticeable imbalance to your laptop. This is not that much of a problem for shorter uses, but if you end up typing for several hours this feature of the battery can be really annoying. In my office I have an old paperback that can fit right underneath and help with this issue, but short of a hack like that one I don't think there is much that can be done about this problem. I just wish HP had designed their laptops a bit more carefully with this sort of issue in mind.

Overall, I have been very satisfied with my new battery, especially considering its price. If you are considering a new or an additional battery for your HP laptop I would strongly recommend this one.

I was kinda disappointed when I found out that this battery does not sit flush in my laptop. It sticks out the bottom. I decided to look on the bright side and realized that it does offer my laptop more lift in the back for more air flow and cooling capacity. The battery works really well and last a very long time. This is a good product if you don't mind it sticking out of the bottom of your laptop.

I put off getting a larger battery for my HP DV2000 because it would stick out of the bottom of the unit and make it a little heavier. Turns out is a complete non issue for me. Just seems like it's tilted on a stand now. And as I can sit behind the house or at the dinner table or anywhere when I have ideas it's been super. I can't look at the new LED Netbooks because of eyestrain. And prefer the core 2 duo processors anyway, so this has been a godsend extending the life of my portables. And if I'm at the portable longer than the 5 or so hours I get out of it, I need a different kind of help!

worked fine for the first 2 weeks then problems started. The battery doesn't fit well enough into the laptop housing to have good electric contact all the time, the laptop didn't boot at all. Slight bending of the laptop contacts fixed that , but after a couple of days recharge speed dropped massively, now battery only recharges up to 60%.
I never had any trouble with the old genuine HP battery in around 2 years.

This was a wasted purchase. My HP laptop now gets a little more than 2 hours on battery time. It is awkward as the battery sticks out, but that isn't a big problem. The big problem is that the battery doesn't keep my laptop powered for even a short flight. It may be time for an Apple.

Great product and price. Seems to keep a 4.5 hour charge better than my old battery that only had a two hour charge.
