Edition:8 GB
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Updated 2/13/13: My entire review is not visible unless you look at this in comment form, I apologize for the inconvenience. I also apologize for the massive length of this post, however appreciate everyone's support.

This card is a little better than a 4GB card as it will let you download a few PSN games, while buying physical media for the rest. But let's face it, there will be people that want to revisit their PSP library, there will be people taking pictures, or putting their music on their vita to listen to with some games. Those of you who plan on buying physical media, should be fine, with a couple of songs, demo's, and full PSN only games.

But, let's look at the size of the Vita games and media currently available.

%Alien Breed: 123MB
AR Play 2012 Holiday Bundle: 1.13GB
Army Corps of Hell: 625 MB
Asphalt: Injection: 765 MB(Demo is the same size)
Assassins Creed III Liberation: 2.6GB(Version 1.02 of physical media takes 30MB)
Ben 10 Galactic Racing: 968 MB
!Bentley's Hackpack: 785MB
Big Sky Infinity PSVita: 329MB
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND: 3.33GB(Good luck fitting this game on a 4GB card, and be able to do anything else, Version 1.00 of physical media takes 2912KB)
Burn the Rope: 31.4MB
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Declassified: 2.5GB(Version 1.02 of physical media takes 376MB)
@Chronovolt: 262MB
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention: 2.05GB(Version 1.00 of physical media takes 4896KB)
DJMAX Technika Tune: 3.1GB
Doctor Who The Eternity Clock: 767MB
Dokuro: 310MB
Dungeon Hunter Alliance: 1.03GB(Cross Platform play with PS3 is not supported, Version 1.00 of physical media takes 1024KB)
Dynasty Warriors NEXT: 1.5GB(Demo is 214MB, Version 1.

4.0 out of 5 stars Til you save up enough for a bigger one March 2, 2012
Edition:8 GB
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
If you're like me and don't have quite enough to get the more expensive memory cards then the 8 GB one will tide you over until you save up enough to buy the 16 or the 32. By the time I bought my vita with a game and starter kit I didn't really feel like shelling out another 100 bucks for a memory card. The 8 is the best value in my opinion. I figured that 8 would be good until I saved up for the 32 and I don't regret my decison at all.
I have uncharted on a cartridge and I have downloaded quite a few demos to try out other games that I might want to purchase in the future. Plus, I have my music and pics as well. Don't get scared into thinking that you have to buy the most memory for the system right off the bat. Just save for the big one when the vita has a bunch of really good titles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of Space April 11, 2012
Edition:8 GB
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This 8GB memory card has more space than I need. If you plan to buy your games at the store whenever possible, you will have enough space to last a long time and you can wait for prices to lower before even considering a bigger card.

1.0 out of 5 stars WAY overpriced but unfortunately necessary December 18, 2012

Edition:8 GB|Verified Purchase
It was a money scamming scheme by Sony to make special memory cards that are WAY overpriced instead of just using regular micro sd cards. For the price of an 8 gb vita memory card I could get a 32 gb micro sd card!!! The vita also doesn't let you know that you MUST also buy a memory card when you buy the vita or else you can't use the console at all. It doesn't come with one. So the price for a vita is significantly higher ultimately than the advertised price of the vita itself. My son only found this out by talking with others who own a vita. Sony tries to hide this fact in it's advertising. Very shady.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good enough for starters May 8, 2012
Edition:8 GB
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I think a 32 GB unit is in my near future wish list, I have maxed it out already, thankfully content manager is a no brainer way to back stuff up. I also have a 4GB unit from the starter pack, but don't use it at all. I only wish the vita had at least 1 GB on board for savegames.. I don't like how tiny the sticks are.. I could very easily lose them if not careful, I wish Sony went with Some cheaper memory but they Always have to come out with top dollar memory units.. As for the packaging, its not entirely easy to open, if you open it a certain way the memory stick can go flying out.. All in all, this stick serves its purpose..

I hope costs go down in a year, as for those who only reviewed on price alone, come on, what did you expect??? IT'S SONY..

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a memory card. February 15, 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
If you're debating sizes, 8GB is the sweet spot if you plan on getting some digital releases. Don't believe the line in the description that says it holds "2-4" Vita games. That's pretty low, actually, based on an average of 2 to 4GB per game, which is very high. I've had a chance to peruse the actual sizes of Vita games available on the Store, and they really range from 1 to 2 GB generally, with a few big ones up above near 3 to 4, but these are rare. There are also some smaller scale games that range around 200 to 500 MB. So realistically, I think the 8GB card could hold around 5 to 7 games, not 2 to 4.

About the card itself, it's a memory card. What's to analyze? It's very very small. Smaller than a penny, really. If your clumsy, you might be worried about losing it, but really if you plan to only get 1 memory card, then putting it in once and not taking it out is a valid solution.

3.0 out of 5 stars 8 g/b card March 10, 2012
Edition:8 GB
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
i believe the 8 g/b card for the PS vita is the best option. saying that there is a problem like every one else the proprietary card sucks hard. they say its small well not really a micro SD is smaller and cheaper. so i really don't know why Sony did this other than to milk people dry. this is something Sony does all the time sadly. i would rather see Sony do online storage.
