This has got to be the worst movie ever. The whole time these bored redneck kids are playing pranks on people and recording themselves. It looks like a blair witch project gone bad!!!! Then the last 15 mins of the movie is when the action starts with bad acting and horrible camera footage. Save your money and buy a number 2 from Mc Donalds. This movie sucks!!!!

**** SPOILER ALERT ****

June 9 takes us along an adventure following the antics of five teenagers, their van and video camera ala The Blair Witch et all. The characters roam around seemingly randomly, causing trouble while videotaping their antics; this goes on for a good majority of the film. There are brief parts in between some of the aforementioned antics that relate to the story in which they venture into "Hell Town" and even ask some locals around the town about its dark past but these scenes aren't really memorable for the movie as they don't have an impact on the viewer. This translates to: not making these scenes register as significant or relevant to the story.

This movie is, as some have put it, on a "shoe string" budget but lacks even basic cohesion in terms of plot or story and I wouldn't let this film get away with using "low budget" as an excuse. I've seen plenty of independent, personally-funded films that have better plot and over-all point to each character in the story.

Other reviews may pull your attention away from this film's many shortcomings by mentioning things like audio presentation, picture aspect ratio etc., however these detract from the overall point: There seemed to be no basic order to this film. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular when I began watching this film and I did sit through the entire film to its end: I was left disappointed and confused by the sudden lack of _anything_, and suddenly they were all murdered.

There were some good "freak out" moments, I'll give this film that much.

I realize this movie isn't going to be for everyone. It starts slow and never really speeds up. There isn't a lot to 'see'. You have to really watch it and pay attention... not be checking your text messages and leaving the room every five minutes.
Yes, it's very cheaply made and the characters are not particularly likeable... they're not meant to be. Instead what you get is a movie that really takes its time and lets you get to know the kids by hanging out with them... seeing how dumb/mean/silly they can be. In time they really start to seem like normal average kids. Surely not deserving of what's coming their way.
When I first watched this I wasn't into it at all... not for the first half hour or so... but then something clicked, and I got that it wasn't a 'bad' movie, just a different one... it doesn't tell the story in the normal storytelling way... especially not the formulaic horror movie fashion. That makes it a bit confusing until you start accepting it on its own terms... just taking it in.
Anyway, I really liked it, I did think it was creepy scary, but I don't expect most folks will get past the slow build and low budget. Too bad for them.

**NO SPOILERS** I enjoyed this microbudget found footage movie quite a bit. The actors, especially, I found believable and - as you hope with any FF movie - were believable. Also, the storyline, which very simple, had a disturbing twist that unfolded throughout the film. It's difficult to review this one without giving anything away, so I will leave it at that. But, the remote, small town feel and kids with too much time on their hands blended perfectly in this one, especially when it came to the consequences of their vandalism and other actions. I'd recommend this one for found footage fans - one of the better (and very off-the-radar) found footage films to come out in the last few years. I've actually rented it several times now, and some of the latter parts still creep me out a little - which is everything you hope for! 9 June is def on my top 25 "must see" found footage, b-movie horror list.

Still dizzy from the constant camera movement. This movie was hard to watch. Home movie look and bad storyline. Would not reccomend!

Tale of Rural Terror!
A group of bored, obnoxious teens go looking for trouble in the countryside.
Obnoxious is as obnoxious does!
These brats don't really deserve the fate that became them, but they certainly asked for it!
A little akin to "Crowsnest" and Evil Things", two other trips to the country gone wrong!
Worth a watch, not for the squeamish.
I suggest parental guidance for children under 12!
Seriuosly!

Not too bad for a bare bone production.
As the title above insinuates,
the filming techniques are that of The Blair Witch Project.
And the story line is that of The Chainsaw Massacre.

Except when the kids of the story meet their ends, there's not much pitty for them.
Bunch of juvenile trouble makers on a road trip, basically terrorizing anyone they encounter.
Until they come to a small rural town, just before June 9th.

Not a lot of gore, lots of shaky camera work, off screen horror.
So if your looking for gore and horror, this isn't the movie.
The acting isn't bad, especially for low budget film.
