I was born in an alternate universe known as a horse farm in Michigan where I ate wholesome, homegrown food, spent far too much time by myself cleaning stalls, and imagined what the world I was really from was like.
Still trapped in this reality, I attended the University of Michigan, became an Air Force pilot, and flew in the First Gulf War. A one dollar bet resulted in the drafting of my first novel. Enthralled by the process of creating a story, I kept writing, and my first book was published in 2002.
Close to forty novels on, I'm still writing. Oh, and I discovered that alternate universe along the way. It lives inside my head and I enjoy sharing it with my readers. When I'm not busy writing, I entertain myself with Medieval re-enacting, gardening, and even a little Middle Eastern dancing.
Let me start this by pointing out that I found Cindy through her Medusa series, and I loved that. I highly recommend the various Medusa titles to anyone interested, though I will say the earlier ones were better because they were allowed a longer page count. My reactions to this book being the first non-Medusa title that I've read will be filtered through that experience, so take it for what it's worth.
The story fits the mini-series premise, Love in 60 Seconds. There are also ongoing story pieces for the whole series, yet the book stands alone. So there would be no problem in picking up this title and reading it by itself. With a page length of near 200 pages, it's also a quick and a light read. If you want some mind-candy for a few hours, you'd get it with this.
It certainly wasn't a bad book, but I just couldn't find the excitement and interest that was in the author's Medusa books. I am still not sure if the fault is mine as a reader because I know I like those other books so much, or if the author was somehow less interested in this than her other stories. Again, it's not a bad book, but it doesn't have that extra Wow-factor that her other titles seem to have.
Book 3 of "Love in 60 Seconds" mini-series. Singer Silver Rothchild & bodyguard, Special Ops Austin Dearing. Silver is being stalked while trying to re-start her singing career. She's also pregnant. Austin's eardrum is shattered, ending his Special Ops career.
